This is my second fight, training for about a year and a half... Just looking for tips.. Sorry about the poor camera footage, someone doesn't know how film, but what ever. Anyways please give me tips, specifically against a guy who would walk me down and get me tired expending my energy.. (I didn't know WTF to do!!) Thanks, here's the link. I'm blue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu_mFzgEcDA Thanks!
Good: Keeping hands up for the most part (Your opponent failed miserably here) and started off well using & looking for the left hook. Nice counter rights Bad: Getting caught on the ropes trying to brawl at the end & losing your rhythm. You should have kept to the jab and right hand. Especially with him dropping his hands.
Yes... DEFINITELY lost my rhythm now that you pointed it out. Thank you dude, I think my natural style is a boxing and not a brawling one, so it was foolish of me to brawl... Oh well, learn and move on.. Thanks again
Not really sure what advice to give you. Boxing is a very difficult sport. Best advice I can give you is to try to enjoy it while it lasts and to not allow yourself to get hit with too many punches in the head since you'll probably need that brain for many good things.
you didn't side step enough, you always in his position to land!!! don't go back,go side ways, get in position wait for him to come..do same thing!!
work the body alot more slowing your opponents pace and work on getting a bit more power in your jab to start with , thumbs up keep up the hard work and stay deicated
1st round you threw some decent shots... there was a 3/4 punch combination where you switched from body to head which was very tidy. Again in the 1st, when you were heading towards the ropes you dipped the knees, kept your hands up and pivoted off. You mentioned your more of a boxer than brawler, I think with this fight after the 1st round using a lot of movement you were tired and couldn't keep up the same pace. Perhaps work more on your feet and jab, so that your not having to move so much around the ring... also there comes times when fighting guys like that you have to be able to hold the centre of the ring, if there constantly coming forward you need to hold your feet and throw shots that make them think twice next time. Another tip, you were fighting a southpaw... throw the right hand down the pipe a bit more against southpaws.
sorry i cant edit i meant to say you should be throwing the screw shot up the middle it will help , good luck with the future bouts
