bottom line it was ilegal by the sanctioning bodies for a reason....and RJJ knew it and broke the rules!!!! Now you can't even get it over the counter. A PED is a PED. It was a substance BANNED in boxing. Asthma pills are banned in boxing.
It wasn't disclosed what he tested for. I work in sports supplements and often the powder from 1 supplement can get into other supplements
Wasn't steroids. It was Andro, which at the time of him using it in 2000 could be bought over the counter.
You can buy many things over the counter today, but many of those things are banned by many athletic commisions and sanctioning bodies. Andro was a banned substance in boxing, even when you could buy it at a health store. When Roy tested positive for Andro, it was banned by the IBF and boxing period. Plaster is an over the counter product, but it's banned in boxing. BTW, Androstenedione is a STEROID.

I honestly don't believe Roy was knowingly using a banned substance, it could be bought at GNC up until 2004, Jones used it back in 2000, and never once tested dirty again. Comparing that to Margarito putting plaster in his wraps is reaching way too far.
I can't believe anyone would compare ripped fuel to putting plaster in your wraps. Roy Jones would never stoop to that level, he knows that it could kill someone and he has expressed his care for other fighters' health more than once.:yep
Tommy that was his excuse to cover up the steroid usage. Just like many other athletes when they are caught blame it on something they bought over the counter as an excuse. :roflatsch
