Personally, I cannot believe he would come in at more than 174.

He came in at 164 against taylor when the limit was 166 so i bet he will come in a little under 168.

Anyone know for sure what weight Pavlik was supposed to have come in on the night when he fought Taylor at 166? At the weigh-in, they weighed in at 164. I cannot see why he would have come 2 lbs under only to put on weight in the last day?

So...if he came in at around 164 for a fight at 166, for a fight at 168, would he be that much over 168? He might not be over 168 at all! I voted 172 tops because I wanted to be really sure, but wouldn't be surprised if he weighed in at 167 and came in on 168 or a bit less on the night.

Compare 168 or even 172, at the outside, with 182, that a big SMW comes in at...big difference. One fights at SMW, the other comes in at 7 lbs over the LHW limit, 14 lbs heavier than Pavlik, at the same weight!

Arum wants Pavlik to fight 4 times a year to help him keep his weight down. I have said before, I believe he can't go back and forth between middle and super because he needs time to put on the extra muscle. That is to fight at the top of the division anyhow. I don't think he will have trouble putting on the extra muscle. His frame frame can handle it. Check out the tale of the tape in his last Taylor fight. He was bottom heavy compared to Taylor. Part of that might be all the running he does to make 160. Stonger legs. I doubt he carries much fat, so the body has to shed muscle instead. I think he can put the weight up top where he needs it when he moves up. Still, that will take a little time. His punches might hurt a tad more then too. ;)

I really don't understand this poll. Pavlik has yet to fight his first defence at middle and you are still posting about him at SM. I know you are a big fan/student of SM, but geez.....

Pavlik is not that big of a guy. There is no reason he cant stay at middleweight for a long time. He would not be as effetive at the higher weight.
