Making weight is not that easy for him, but he is determined to try for a while. See my earlier post. He has to work to stay at 160. His frame could easily put on some upper body weight. But, I can guess your reason for wanting to beleive what you posted. :yep

Well, the premise of the thread is a bit premature so just go ahead and 'waste' your vote. ;) Trying to be nice here. The author has this idea the Pavlik wouldn't cut it at SM and is reaching new, ummm... whatever, to prove his point. This iteration of the theme is he doesn't weigh enough. I have little doubt, when Pavlik decides to move up, he will put on some more upper body muscle. He already has the work ethic to cut lots of weight, so he will be adequately built when he is ready. Of course, I seem to be the only person in the world that thinks a fight should be held AT the weight limit. Stupid me. What is the point of having limits if they aren't in effect at fight time?

There's more to life than Pavlik, Dawson, Calzaghe, Bute, Froch, Inkin and the lot from 160-175.:D

The point was: If Calzaghe fights Pavlik THIS YEAR, after Locket, Pavlik won't have time to come in bigger than around 168...and certanly not bigger than 172, on the night...it takes time to grow muscle while maintaining speed and stamina. Calzaghe himself might outweigh him by about 8-12 pounds!

Umm... this is the first that you mention Calzaghe, THIS YEAR or Locket. How did this suddenly become "The point"?

Pavlik is tall but not wide framed and what I would call 'big' - I think if he moves up weights he becomes less effective, for sure.

I think he just gets stronger. 8 pounds isn't much to move up for a guy that kills himself to make weight now.

He will be outweighed by quite a lot by big SMWs at 168 and unlike them, he will not perform as well as them the more they weigh over 168. See the problem? Pavlik should stay at 160 where he is at his best and where he is a big MW.

Yes. I see the problem. Once again you assume your speculation is fact. You have the right to your opinion, but please, try and come across a little less like Boxing God claiming you KNOW what Kelly will be like at 168. The only way anybody knows is to wait and see. The whole premise of the thread is a vote will somehow reveal his ring weight if he moves to SMW is as stupid as it gets. But it is as good as the logic you have displayed in other posts. Now, YOU see the problem. I doubt it Mr. Boxing God.

If you that people should not be speculating/giving their views/analysing on the basis of facts on a forum, why are you on a forum?

Just look up the fight schedule on boxrec and the results after the fights and be done with it.

Forums are for those who want to discuss things, analyse, give their views.

Some do it on the basis of fact (like me), to the extent that I am well informed and to the limit of my ability to draw conclusions from those facts, and some people just make stuff up or don't give any reason for a certain view/thought/prediction.

Some, like you, are pissed off whenever someone has a view on the basis of fact or not, that you disagree with.

Well, unless you can convince the rest of us you are right, you'd better either get used to the idea that others will have other views from yours, whether justified or not, or just stop reading boxing forums.

Go to boxrec and look up schedules and results, if you don't like analysis and discussion. :hi:

    I put 174
Pavlik doesnt gain much rehydrating from 160 so a few pounds not much maybe even 172
And Decebal what do you have against odd numbers?

A poll only allows 10 options...and there was a big gap I wanted to cover...Bute goes in at 182-184 on the night...Pavlik could come in at 168 or less!

You are 'well informed' by picking and choosing what you want to believe. We all have a bias. Ignoring it gets us in trouble though. There are sources on the internet about Kelly's weight. Not to hard to find. Check this one out. Eyewitness account. Beats VOTING on his weight.

Learn to use google. There are other accounts of his weight. He still has to watch between fights to not get too big. (Like reports of Miranda going to 200 pounds) Running a poll on this is as stupid as it gets when there is REAL information available. But, that runs counter to what you want to see. You post and people that already agree with you jump in the thread and you have what is called a self fulfilling prophecy.

Of course, I still seem to be the only one that thinks you should weigh in an hour or two before the fight. Guys fighting two weight classes above the weight limit is just rediculous.

You still can't see you are wearing blinders to make a case against Pavlik entering your beloved 168 range and possibly kicking the ass of some of your idols.
