Can anyone please explain why Cintron was allowed to continue fighting after the ref reached the count of ten. Have you ever seen a fight where the ref actually counted ten, and the fight continued? Plus, since Cintron can't be saved by the bell, doesn't he have to give his hands to the ref and prove he can continue by walking forward before he can be allowed to continue? I really thought I knew what consituted a knockout, but every month it seems to change in this sport.
Because there was a weak ass ref in there. Cintron felt that leather glove hit his face but complains about a headbutt? He knows the difference between the two.
because cintron was up before 10 and the ref motioned him towards his corner saying the round is over and cintron who was obviously still dazed and confused thought he was saying fights over so cintron threw a hissy fit but he made it up before 10
Didn't we already do this for Bute v Andrade? To beat the count all he needs is for his hands to be clear of the floor before the ten count.
I used to like Cintron, but now he can drown himself in a bucket full of cow semen for all I care. What a *****. Martinez outboxed him, won 9 rounds clearly, cut him, and KO'd him and he came out with a draw. **** that ****ing bull ****ing ****.
Lovely. I didn't see the fight yet and by readin what I have read so far I think I will take a pass. I definitely don't want to get nervous these days.
He was up, and the guy never called the fight. Martinez thought he'd won and jumped on the top ropes before seeing if it was really called, that made Cintron and his corner think the fight was over. Then it was just a chain reaction. Watch it, the ref motions Cintron to the corner, where you hear Cintron say it was a headbutt (it wasn't, but it was a ****ed up weird shot that actually came DOWN across his face, and I'm not sure but their might have been an elbow there too, but it was a weird angle). They argued a bit, and the ring filled up because Martinez thought he won.. the Ref never called the fight... then he tried to get it all cleaned up. It was the right call, Cintron got up, wasn't actually hurt at that moment when he got up. The bell rang, round was over. No ****ing controversy.
Yes sir, it was a circus. If you don't like Cintron much, you might get a laugh out of it all, but if you care about the career of Martinez....you might have a stroke.:-(
This is accurate. How do you feel though about the score cards being "shuffeled" around, and redistributed? I agree though, like you said Martinez thought it was over (it wasn't), Cintron wanted to argue it was a head butt - not a KD (it was a KD), and the Ref had to clear out the "celebration" for the fight to continue. Case closed. But the Draw was bull****, no?
The refs mistake was the fact that he led Cintron to his corner with his arm up in the air. THAT 9/10 is the universal it's over sign. On top of that he says to Cintron, "It's Over" which forced Kermit to go into a big **** fit over whether it was a headbutt or a punch. A circus indeed.
but he counted to 10. :bart i think that's the type of incident where a referee can call on the HBO cameras. that way he can check out the incident and render a fair verdict. instead of that he's bought the claims of cintron and let it continue. atsch
Cintron got a freakin gift last night. That fight should have been over in the 7th. DRAW????? Bogus. The only draw last night was the Campbell/Funeka fight.....and even that was a bogus decision.
