Just found a clip from roughly 2 or 3 years ago hitting the heavy bag. In the clip I was 16 years old, 150 or so, the gloves are 16oz, and the bag is 100. Since then I've progressed quite a bit. My footwork is much better, and the combo's come off much more fluently. I do recommend turning the volume off though. Any constructive criticism would be welcomed. Thanks to everyone in advance. http://rapidshare.com/files/76004303/100_0231.mov.html P.s. Sorry for the annoying music and the dark video.
i would recommend adding the clip to youtube so people dont have to join the site to look at video and so without seeing i cant really judge but if its 2 or 3 years ago then there is no point judging anyway i beleive you might as well make a new one and post on youtube
OK here's the YouTube version, sorry about that. [yt]kbR80Ec4ZoM[/yt] I would post a new video but I lack the following things: 1) Digital Camera 2) My little home gym 3) The money to buy a new camera and bring it to the actual gym. One more thing, I was 141 not 150.
well you have got good speed and throw your combos well, cant really say about your power because it seems as if ur on a very light bag, you were tending to let the bag swing an awful lot, maybe this is just because you have a very light bag i dont know, but it is quite hard to judge without a heavy bag that is actually heavy. another thing your head movement is quite good, but a couple of times when the bag was basically out of your reach you were still swingin and barely hitting it, a good counterpuncher that has pretty good reflexes would be able to just move his head back and counter. is there nay chance of lending a camera or getting someon else to film you, so your about 18 or 19 now, do you trainin a gym or just at home???
really cant and will not judge you from such a short clip and on a bag that poses no threat, you see the free way you throw combos on a bag is most likely not what you would do with a live sparring partner, a real judging could be used if this was some sparring my only comment is this: you lack a jab, after your combos when the bag is swaying you wait, for it to be in position to throw another set of punches, use your jab to set up the bag for the next series instead of waiting for it to be in perfect position, if you get what I mean?
hi i just enlarged your video here is a few comments 1.great punching power 2.great speed 3.needs to move around more 4.needs to work pads more 5.stop leaning with your punches (this is my first time actually commenting on my own so hope its right and hope someone can slap me around if my comments are wrong) are your sure its a 100lb bag? it looks more like a 70lb bag(your punches are still powerful just curious)
Well thank you everyone for the comments and compliments. To answer a few questions WelshWonder - The bag is actually 70lbs, I apologize. I looked up the measurements and it was 6 inches too short. Yes I do train at a gym, I just set that up when I was living at home due to the gym only being open on M-W-F. LoBlow - The jab has become one of my best punches, and in the video you're definitely right, thank you. I should have been setting the bag up with it. I probably could get my hands on another camera, but bringing it to the gym for sparring would probably get my ass kicked by the trainer. If I decide to fight soon though, I'll be able to post that up. Truepwrz - Thanks for the advice. My movement was limited, on the other side of the bag there is a staircase that you have to watch out for. The leaning with the punches had become a pretty bad habit of mine though, and I still catch myself doing it sometimes (hooks.) Also, as noted above, you're right, it was only 70lbs.
