Please name...

In my book Mundine has never beaten a current World Champion and has never been a world champion. I like most sensible boxing fans DON'T count bull**** titles like the IBO and WBA regular title as being world titles. You still have to win a big 4 belt to be a world champion imo. That may change in the future similar to how the WBO is now considered more legit than it was 15 or so years ago.
Does anyone here have the hide to classify Daniel Geale as a former world champion ? I certainly don't.

 

Yes Geale is the former IBO MW World champ :yep

I know you dont rate them however while such names as the following do I dont think they will mind if you dont

You mustnt realise that Mundine was brought up around a boxing gym not a footy field..He just happened to excel at footy in his youth as there are more oppurtunities to do so in sydney..Hes from a fighting family.

It wasnt like he done a Hoppa and just said **** lets put some gloves on and try learn on the job..

 

Ash when those big stars like Hatton/Wlad/Pac etc won the IBO belt they really didn't give a **** about it. The belt was basically given to them. Imo the IBO belt is the equivalent of the WBO belt in the 1990's.
The IBO belt is NOT considered legit in the world of boxing.

 

What did Wlad say when the IBO was talked about?

I guess RJJ going for the belt was nothing....and the B Hop was going to fight for the same belt :yep

RJJ was just belt collecting in the twilight of his career - simple as that. He need the Cruiser in order to complete the weight belt set, and the easiest way on face value was Danny and the IBO - hindsight has shown he was wrong in thinking that.

Hopkins just wanted/wants to fight RJJ - plain & simple - the IBO title had/has little to nothing to do with it - as proved by the fact that they will still meet less the IBO belt.

 

Well he fought ...&^%FGHTR#$%...cough...cough..agh it was a great victory, one for the history and trivia night buffs!
