Get with the times boys, I just find it funny that the four ppl with the least banter all have black and white avatars. I felt is was worth pointing out. Do I know much about boxing in the sense you mean as in learning the records of boxers of the 1700's like you two big bert sugar's? No. I do know about current boxing and current sports on a level clearly greater than yourselves...
Your ****ing kidding yourself. The only thing I have ever seen you post about is Mundine and even then its totall bull****. I'd love to see you post some of your infinite wisdom on current boxing. I'm up for a debate on anything boxing related be it modern or old times.
Has Australia EVER had a 3 time WORLD Champ?? By comparison to Shingaki, I'd suggest all IBO, WBO, IBC, WBA WBF etc. Champs, at any level, remain more than defamed by any standards compared to him. No, you have not compared Shiniaki to anyone. Without disrespecting Governing bodies, I'd say Australia has- since Lionel Rose- had 2 WORLD Champs. Kostya Tszyu and Vic Darchynian. Wow.. both foreign born... Unifying a division is the closest thing to WORLD domination. I don't actually consider any fighter a WORLD Champion.. not even Pac.. unless a weight division is completely unified and all potentials fulfilled. This DOES not happen in the modern game, hence fighters are respected as Champions in most cases, being divisional champs under a certain Body. Manny Paquiao diary.. "Monday. win World title.. Tuesday.. Move up a division.. win another title.. Wednesday.. Dont take drug test......." Is todays game of Multiple titles a new concept?? No way.. Joe Louis was stripped by the BBB of C... and then re-instated as champ when he signed to fight Walcott again.. No better than John. L's recognition, or Billy Murphy's derecognition. TBH, I'd rather watch some good local fights.. classic match ups with the IBO title on the line, rather than watch an Aussie get ****ed over in Vegas by a few dim witted judges. Seeing Green SMASH the **** sucker RJJ.. That was pure GOLD. The IBO can smile at the final result; knowing full well that RJJ's Camp are pathetic with any of the **** poor accusations and feeble sulking that steered RJJ into a money spinner with Bhop-a-long-way away from Green. Boxing is a business, and has been that way since the legalization of the 'sport'. Some moron on another forum thinks otherwise.. lol To answer your Q?? Have Mandy or Daniel Geale been World Champions?? Check their Trophy cabinets mate. The belts are there to suggest they have. Appreciation of any current Champs will lay at the hands of the fight fans 50 years from now.
Unification of a wieght division is overated. There have been numerous world champions from whichever of the big "4" from all over the world who were either not pissing in the right pocket, weren't marketable or were simply badly managed and didn't have the financial backing behind them to make unification of even 2 belts a possibility. Unification only happens when all of the above happens. It's rare. World champions come and go.
We debate the quality of Anthony's title shots but we're selling him short if we don't mention the title defences. One that is etched in my memory is the 2007 " title " defence against Jose Clavero. What a courageous bit of matchmaking by team Mundine. Where could they have found a more worthy challenger ? They knew that 18 months earlier Clavero had refused to get off his stool for the 5th round against Paul Briggs but they were still prepared to risk it all. Fortunately for Choc he was able to rise to the occasion and imo this fight definitely helped set the bar for the rest of his career. Look out Kelly the Pioneer's got you in his sights.
A mundine fan thinkin he is one of the best in the worls sayin they know more about boxing than most...thats pure comedy :rofl...get off the drugs
Fella's, fella's, fella's, This 20a87 boys has proven today he's the new ****wit of the Aussie Forum and he's buying you all in. When he tried saying earlier that the Klit's and Haye were better than Ali, that's when I knew we had a supreme level ****wit on our hands. atsch This was further to his claim in another thread that Mandy will win the 'Ring'belt at Middleweight, oh dear..... In my best Michael Buffer voice - "Ladies and Gentleman - Spidiot and Luds now have a new contender...." Don't give him oxygen! :tired
Boxon.. Harding was 2x WBC LH/W Champ. Peden, Ellis, Michael, Green, Mundine, Fenech, Fammo, Mattioli, Malcolm etc. etc have ALL won World titles under the Aus flag. I made a point to halfwit-75, saying the Unification of a division is the most basic way of stopping Q??? IMO. WORLD DOMINATION of a Division. Tszyu is still assumed by some as being 'not' the best jW/W of his own era?? WTF?? Who else stayed at jW/W for such an extended period?? But De La Hoya is so much better?? Why?? Because they fought the most money generating bouts available for PPV's, whilst stepping out of the jW/W div as soon as Tszyu was in reach of him??? What div had DLH unified? I rate our Champs as being Champs, BUT the 'sport' is just that... a Business that thrives in $$$ and continues to do so. Saying the IBO is a bull**** title, leaves a door wide open for Fwit-75 and others to think about some facts. Boxing is a Business.. nothing more to it. It's hardly a new concept. Great match up's are what leaves the biggest impression.. This obviously worked for most 'champions' that won half a dozen titles in 27 weight divisions throughout the world... but, works far better in favour of several of Australia's most MEMORABLE CHAMPS (regardless of winning a single world crown) who took no short cuts, faced the most demonic punchers, toiled for many, many years in the same weight division and still recieved **** all appreciation, due to 'promotional $$$$$$ making dream boats' coming along and stealing the true glory from legitimate hardened fighters. Focus is taken away from far too many Aussie legends who deserve recognition, via the uneducated dribble in favour of Mr.6 time, Mr.8 time, Mr. Next Time...etc. Naming 20 former Aussie fighters worthy of a world title in todays game, would not be difficult as these blokes were no lesser than any current fighter, regardless of 20a86's bull**** 'comparisons'. CHAMPION Boxers/fighters compared to Champion Titles.... thats where the differences are.
Seriously how old are you ? I don't know you but i thought you were about 50 yrs old or so from an avatar picture you put up a week or so ago. Calling posters ****wits, knobheads etc etc when you don't agree with their opinion is extremely immature for a bloke of your age. Grow up
