Pffft wouldn't just be his, anyone who has any kind of knowledge of Australian Boxing knows that Mundine is not #1. His dad would have slaughtered him, Lionel Rose would have made him look foolish. He would not have remembered what punch Elly Bennett hit him with. Hector Thompson.... well, I hate to think what he would have done to him
Lionel Rose ? He was a bantomweight. Not sure Mundine could get down that low for a fight if they were in the same era.
You, in this post, have proven to be limited in the grey matter. So, my void craniumed friend, the fighters of yesteryear were amatuers by todays standards were they?? Viewing some footage of a lot of these fighters from years gone by tells me they'd fit into the modern game very well. Adjustments in technique would be required for obvious reasons, as boxing/moving was less prevelant 100 years ago..... but Darcy was no good either??? **** off. Perhaps you'd be kind enough to make me **** myself laughing a bit more... Go on... tell me Palmer, Richards, Sands, Henneberry, Carroll, and countless others would not fit into the modern game. I'd say each and everyone of them would beat the **** out of Mundine with no technique changes required. Each of these guys would be unphased by a left jab from Mundine.. You question the quality of Les Darcy.. well, you'd know all about Les wouldn't you.... NOT!!!!!! Chin, strength, stamina, raw courage and a very likable personality are just a few of his traits. Humbleness being another. After his first loss to experienced Yank, Fritz Holland, Darcy trained with Dave Smith for 3 weeks.. returned and belted Holland.... just 3 weeks of training and Holland could not believe the improvement. Now, throw Darcy under the wing of Ambrose Palmer of Billy Lawrence for 3 weeks.. He'd fit into the modern game without fail. There's a reason these guys made incredible sums of money, thrilled packed stadiums (15,000 being a commen crowd), and remained respected for generations.. They were fighters. They fought the BEST available as a rule. The tripe TeamMundine keep throwing our way is amatuerish. Dave Sands engaged in 43 Pro bouts before taking the NSW M/W crown.. Johnny Wheeler engaged in 75 pro bouts through his career, taking the Vic State Title.. Alby Roberts had 180+ pro bouts, barely taking the QLD Title.. Believe me, the list is endless... These blokes would fight 15 rounds of hard fighting, literally every month for years.. Imagine dietry suppliments being added to their systems.. Darcy fought 20 rounds with the flu, still beating a former world champion... Go figure. If you, ya toy boy F-75 and the rest of the clowns who demonise the Greats of Oz boxing have nothing to offer, then expect to be belittled as nothing more than **** heads, unless you can come up with valid arguments.
Geez Flamengo....it must have taken you all day to type that...considering how old you are....you know...toilet breaks....medication....nap time....I didnt know they had internet down at the old peoples home
No.... But that's a kind thought, and another useless post that implies you are a moron. Great work Knob jockey. Oh... and just to let you know, Lionel Rose also fought for the jL/W championship. :hi:
I already knew that you senile old turd. You think that you know everything there is to know about boxing don't you. A lot of posters on here know just as much as you, including me.
I have to do something, now that Ray Martin no longer has a Midday Show and John Laws is not on the wireless. Of course the internet is here... wouldn't be able to scour through in search of porn otherwise. :tong
Really.. but Lionel was only a bantamweight aparently???? Some moron suggested that in another thread... Oh, it was you, in you infinate knowledge. Since you know so much, perhaps you'll offer me some information about Jackie Ryan???
What are you talking about?? The successful part of his career was Bantam... The majority of his career was well above Bantam... Mr. Know****all. :hi:
