Meh. In fairness if its going to be a keep busy fight id rather a domestic challenger like Walsh than some random dude from Ghana
what a ****ing joke. the thing is Liam Walsh is a legitimate prospect that could go on to do decent things if managed properly. He is confident and hungry so will take the opportunity and probably will beleive he can win, but his manager (Frank W*rren) should not be putting him into a world title fight. What a joke.
I suppose the flip side to this argument is that without allegedlys influence Walsh judging on his form would struggle to make its to ABC belt level so he is getting him a shot that by rights 95% of managers would not be able to get him.
I would like to see this tbh .I think it's decent enough .I honestly like seeing a domestic challenger step up to world level . [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN2r1aqx1N8[/ame]
the joke is you slaging fwank off as usuall , suprised u never managed too mention hearn or matchroom as ur always kissing thier ass as for the fight its ok for a stay busy fight as long as he is unifying next yr
I actually really really like Liam Walsh, but what he done to earn this shot? what does he have to stop burns from putting a beating on him? he hasn't been in the ring with anybody close to burns level, JOKE fight, welcome back to laughing stock, USA Ricky
I agree that Walsh certainly needs to fight more often. He is decent but not great dont see that special spark that makes you think he might go far and it really does take a bit of special especially below lightweight for a British fighter to be able to compete with the Mexicans and Asians. I think Simpson would be a much better match for him. Though i would still fancy Simpson in that fight.
i see no problem with this. Why not let him fight for it. This thing with fighters not havng enough experience and earning shots etc. **** it, if it's on the table, gobble the ****er up! Let's face it, it's not as if Walsh is a ****ing punchy Journeyman.
Johnny Nelson, Ricky Hatton, Gavin Rees and Ricky Burns how many of these after 13 fights looked like they would win a world title?
its an ok fight for Burns but for Walsh its stupid and poor managment. I am fair. in recent years Hearn deserves praise and fwank deserves slating.
whoever Burns fights it will be a keep busy fight as the other champions won't be free until at least February.
fair enough but don't sacrifice a decent prospect. why not get your mandatory out of the way! His run at lightweight has been quality.
For those asking what he's done to deserve a shot- he beat Paul Appleby. If it's good enough for that notorious destroyer Joseph Laryea, it's good enough for Walsh.
