So you don't place Jones among the top 10 168 pounders of all time?

Charles beat the following fighters, all while weighing between 170-180 pounds, since that would seem to be the general area we're considering:

-Archie Moore X3
-Jimmy Bivins X3 (outweighed by about 10 pounds in each bout)
-Lloyd Marshall
-Gus Lesnevitch
-Elmer Ray (HW who outweighed him by almost 20 pounds)
-Oakland Billy Smith X2
-Sam Baroudi
-Erv Sarlin X2(a HW who outweighed him by double digits)
-Johnny Haynes and Joe Baksi (HW's who outweighed him by 30+ pounds)
-Fitzie Fitzpatrick X2

Not to mention multiple wins over Joey Maxim, who outweighed the then sub-170 Charles by about 20 pounds.

Which fighters did Langford beat in that weight range that are comparable to the list above? Remember, Langford has to have weighed inside those perameters. Most of the time he was beating HW's or smaller LHW's when he himself was between 185-200 or so.

 

Well Langford did beat O Brien so had he been given a shot he may as well have won the title.

No right minded person can really rate Michael Spinks above Ezzard Charles, can they?

 

What I meant was he did little as Lhvy Champ.He was an old man when he won it so I dont knock him for that.
I think OBrien is the most overated Lhvy of all time,he won the title from an old man and NEVER defended it .He was twice kod by the middle weight king.
For the same reason I marked Conn down a bit, as like most LHvy Champs he went after the big prize .
By his own admission , O Brien was in a lot of fixed fights, I rate Burns above him , Delaney,Jones,Berlenbach,Johnson ,Lewis too he doesnt make my top 20.
Fitz was a super middle in a lot of fights ,similar to Choynsky.Where do you place them?
Its subjective imo.
