I agree with that last sentence so I do feel sad. However I can understand the original poster's venom. Roy was a very gifted athlete that was made even better by PED usage and fought many sub standard opponents. He could of caused many of those victims brain damage himself while he didn't face elite comp. he was also very ****y and arrogant about it and if not for the failed test would probably deny he used even though it was so evident. In short not a good guy. But no one should get seriously hurt in such a dangerous and noble sport.
It's a culmination of things. The main problem is, he still feels young mentally. He's also still in reasonable shape for his age, and he's still performing at a certain level in the gym. The other thing is, he can still perform at a certain level in the ring. He can still beat lower level guys like Eric Watkins etc. And he's been doing all this since he was about 8 years old. It must be incredibly hard to give up something like that. I don't know whether he'll drop a few levels or if he'll retire. But I'm certain that even if he retires he'll have a farewell fight. I honestly can't see him going out like that.
Shut up you moron. You were on here two months ago with me and Mind Reader pretending to support him in his quest to win a CW title. But we could see straight through your BS. Why do you constantly type the same old sh*t?
Can't believe what I'm reading Mac's power is for real he knocked out an almost 50 faded legend with no legs guess the. He now becomes greater than Joe Calzaghe then since he koed Roy ..I swear some people have noooo common sense
No surprise after reading that he was always a protected bum because he got KOd multiple times at the very late of his career.
It doesn't seem the issue is financial. I don't think there will be anyone looking for him after this.
They say: ''Oh Roy! please retire for f__k's sake!'' ''Watching you get sparked out cold again and again we just cannot take'' But look how they forget that this sadistic glass-jawed fake once tossed a lizard into a lake And watched a fish take its life for his own amusement sake This my friends is Roy Jones fans in a nutshell :-(
It's the boxing version of the Elvis syndrome. Noone would tell Elvis no and look what happened. Roy, and others before him, know what it is like to be on top and perform brilliantly and -in some cases---the decline is slow and imperceptible. He has been ko'd several times and probably just can't realize or believe that he just doesn't have it anymore. Father time does it to everyone. no exceptions. Someone said he needs an intervention. I think the only intervention that would work is to yank his license.. In every state.
I seriously hope he quits for good but highly doubt it. He's going to get seriously injured in there and it could get fatal. Someone has to talk some sense into him already.
No one would tell these guys no because sadly they're mostly surrounded by scum that only want money and attention. The handful few that say "no" are always overcrowded by the 100s screaming "yes".
