Hello Everyone I usually post in the boxing forum, but I do have a great affinity for MMA, having wrestling for UC Davis, Urijah's same alma matter. Currently there are only 5 California Universities that carry NCAA DI wrestling. Three are about to be cut. UC Davis has just cut the program, one of the only successful sports on campus. It is the last of University of California Wrestling programs. Currently wrestling has the sixth highest participation rate in California High Schools and has seen the largest increase (25%) of all sports. Golf which is more expensive for most high schools to fund can be found in 6 UC's. There are 0 female NCAA D1 wrestling teams. Currently there are more female high school wrestlers than male and female gymnasts combined in California. There are 4 UC programs (3 womens, 1 mens). Most impacted are low-income and minorities. A high school state champion with a 4.0 could miss out of going to school in California while a student of another sport and lesser GPA could get a scholarship. What can you do?
