Escaped a "critical situation" yet has not regained consciousness?

I am not sure what to make of that.

Me either but https://boxingnews.jp/en/ update is even older from Dec 30 right after he underwent surgery

Return to normal blood pressure is good at least even if he is still unconscious

You can be in "stable" condition but still in a medically induced coma during recovery.

True of course but you hear of too many of these situations ending badly.

Finger crossed for the poor guy.

Yes & proud of it Tony did nothing wrong except Beat Cotto into submission Made him quit on his knees. Cotto couldn't even beat a shell of Margarito who was fighting with only one good eye for 8 or 9 rounds. Cotto had to let the NY doc save him from quitting AGAIN!!!!
Arent you a Floydette ? !! ROFL We ALL know he cheated at IV gate No way could I support a Cheat like him. Even the Commission tried to cover his butt BUT FAILED!!!!!
But neither you nor drenlou KSAB do ya

Latest update as of Jan 18:

Kazuki Anaguchi (Shinsei) participated in the final 10 rounds of the "Bantamweight Monster Tournament" held at Ariake Arena in Tokyo in December, and his gym explained his situation on the official SNS. The gym reported that he was taken to the hospital after the match and diagnosed with a right subdural hematoma, and that he is still undergoing hard treatment, although he has not regained consciousness. He is still recovering from the hematoma. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who have expressed their encouragement to me," he said.

On December 18, Shinsei Gym announced on its official Instagram page, "To all the people concerned and fans," and added the following about Anaguchi: "As many of you may have already heard on the Internet news, Kazuteru Anaguchi, a member of our gym, participated in the Japanese bantamweight title match held at Ariake Arena in Tokyo on December 26, last year, and was rushed to the hospital immediately after the match. He was taken to the hospital immediately after the match and diagnosed with a right subdural hematoma," he wrote.

He continued, "His consciousness has not recovered yet, but he is still undergoing treatment." He also expressed his gratitude for the encouragement he has received from so many people.

He will make an announcement through the Japan Boxing Commission regarding his future progress. He hoped that the Japanese Boxing Commission would understand that he is unable to answer any inquiries about his current situation.

So he has sent out a message or just his team, not full conscious but recovering that means he's out of major danger? either way good news guys like this should just retire if he gets better & be happy with a normal good functioning life at that.

His team, he is still unconscious but the message from his team sounds optimistic that he will recover

Yes he should retire & I believe JBC will recommend the same

He will be remembered for the great fight, a FOTY candidate for 2023

Shinsei Boxing Gym has reported that Kazuki Anaguchi has not yet awakened after the emergency operation following the intense bout against Seiya Tsutsumi on December 26th.

    This content is protected

“To all concerned parties and fans. As many of you may already know from online news, Kazuku Anaguchi, a gym member, was taken to the hospital immediately after the event at Tokyo Ariake Arena on Tuesday, December 26, last year.

“Anaguchi participated in the Japanese bantamweight title match. Doctors diagnosed a right subdural hematoma after the match. He has not regained consciousness yet but is continuing to receive treatment. “We have received words of encouragement from so many people. I want to take this opportunity to thank them.”

The Japan Boxing Commission [JBC] asked for understanding and said they would give updates to those concerned at the appropriate time. “Many of our players have already scheduled matches for this year; under these circumstances, we are all looking ahead. We are trying hard to help our friend [Anaguchi], who continues receiving treatment. “Thank you for your support. With everyone’s words of encouragement, we will do our best to do what we can and look forward to the return of our friend.”

I hate to read this. Unfortunately, after 28 days the outlook for a positive outcome is becoming less likely by the day. As awful as the thought is, I do hope his family have the financial support to retain his life support and associated medical care - it accrues very quickly. I'm curious if there's been a Give A Little page set up for his family; I'm sure boxing fans worldwide would rally to support them.
