between Floyd and Pacs fights against Cotto AND Floyd and Pacs fights against JMM.

    Reasoning:
Apart from when Cotto is fighting bigger guys (of late) he is an aggressive fighter (especially when he was at 147 and lower). there are a tiny number of aggressive fighters in around 147 IN THE WHOLE HISTORY OF BOXING that would beat pac, basically if someone isn't much of a mover and comes forward a lot pac will destroy them, the guy is an absolute ANIMAL.

Onto JMM, he is a counter puncher, how many counter punchers in the history of boxing in an around 147 would beat floyd? floyd is a boxing genius.

    Just my two cents.

Cotto can do things Pacquaio can't do.
Pacquaio can do things Cotto can't do.

It just so happens that what Pacquaio can do, plays to Mayweather's strengths.

I disagree but this is a good starting thread which is supposed not to make comparisions. However, it is Floyd himself that sees no one else and at last other than Pacquiao to fight and takes it to Bob Arum who refused a 20 mil payday right away. So if after the 87 days jail sentence, he has nobody else to fight and give the public what they want to see which is a competitive fight where risks are taken and things can go either way, Mayweather also loses with this most unfortunate picture of the game and Pac won't just let go Arum, we know that.... Pac still has Tim Bradley who is one awkward and mostly solid and relentless hitter, once golden gloves and silver medallist, the guy is short armed from the tip of the arm to the end of the fist but he body slams inside fast and hard, let's go bombs upstairs like overhand rights and lefts and he is difficult to hit cause he is short and ducks well... Maybe he just squares himself up a lil bit but he learned from flash knockdowns and with the most difficult opponent in his career who I think was Kendall Holt ( 1 knockdownm round 1 and another round 12, scores 114-112, 115-111 twice) but press row saw it a draw and even to Holt's side by slim margin. So nobody is writing Tim off but Mayweather-Pacquiao needs to happen to keep those dollars running and as we know a big deal is given back to the community along with the part involving 50 cent and other artists.

Certain things that the guys who beat up emmanuel can do, Floyd can do.

Both Tijuana and Juan used the left uppercut + right hand combo on emmanuel with success. Floyd showed last night that he knows how to use this combo.

Tijuana used the jab plenty on emmanuel. Floyd has been showcasing his jab in all his post retirement fights.

Tijuana killed emmanuel with rights to the body. Floyd is great at using this shot on southpaws.

now does emmanuel have the jab, size, and swarmer characteristics (like cutting off a ring) that Cotto(e) does? No

It's funny though. Marquez was dominated by Mayweather, Cotto was dominated by Pacquiao yet Marquez arguably beat Pacquiao recently and Cotto gave Mayweather hell for as long as he lasted.

This right here is a prime example of what styles make fights really means for those that bother to care and look at it this way.

i will not argue that hypothetically, floyd beats pac.

    $$$ is hypothetically the GOAT.
