Mosley rocked him damn good with that second right hand. Floyd was on spaghetti legs big time for a few seconds there.

You know what I find to be odd, about 1/2 a year ago, prior to the Cotto vs Pacquiao fight, the Welterweight division was hailed as the deepest and most exciting in boxing and was universally recognized as boxing's new flagship division. Fast forward 1/2 a year and alluvasudden it's ****, it's in the toilet and no win means anything anymore. What makes this even more confounding is that within that 1/2 a year none of the major players changed . . .

Cotto's still there if need be
Paul Williams is still there if need be
Cintron is still there if need be
Margarito is back now and will kill himself to make weight if need be
    Mosley's still there
    Pacquiao is still there
    Clottey's still there
    Collazzo's still there
    Floyd is still there
    Berto is still there
Hell, we even gained a new paper champ to add to the mix in the interim, Jan Zevac
Not to mention perennial loser, Zab Judah, who has plans to drop down to jr. welter.

So what the hell happened in that 1/2 a year to turn the welterweight division from being boxing's flagship division, boiling over with excitement and prospects, to being in the worst shape its been in in years. I truly have to know.

P.S. When someone is almost KO'd in a round I gotta see a 10-8 on the scorecards (and it was clearly not a 10-8 round). The only person silly enough to have scored that 2nd round a 10-8 would be an imbecile like Dan Rafael.

Laughable how people will pick anything and blow it up to slag Floyd off.

He got caught with an absolute bomb, he took the punch, recovered well and showed a very solid chin in doing so.

If anything we should be praising Mayweathers chin and presence of mind instead of chatting all this nearly ko'd ****. Did he get Ko'd? No. Did he go down? No. Did he react well and nutralise Shanes offence after being caught? Yes

While I wouldn't say that Mayweather almost got KO'd, he was definitely hurt and if Shane had been able to land another solid shot, Floyd would have at least gone down. However, Mayweather did his job, tied Shane up and avoided most of the other shots he threw immediately after. He recovered quickly and began to attack from that point on. So, I wouldn't say he was almost KO'd, but he was in danger of being KO'd at that time.

I'm not a Mayweather fan, but what you say is true.

would people still say shane was shot if he finished PBF in round 2? All the haters need to give floyd some credit. he absolutely schooled the fighter you all said he was too scared to face.

If you come up with one post of yours BEFORE the fight where you state Mosley is shot, then I'll at least say that you sincerely believe Mosley is shot. Otherwise this is simply an excuse.

    It boggles the mind.

These pricks are using double standards big time.

And I bet that if Mosley had succeeded in KOing Mayweather in that 2nd round, they would be calling Mosley by far the best welterweight out there, who still has a lot left in the tank.

    ****ing hypocrites.

    Absolutely true.

Almost knocked down, not knocked out, Money Mayweather had recovered fully by the end of the round.

The thread-starter has attempted to create a certain definition of "almost ko'd" which, by design, excludes the situation in the 2nd round of the Mosley-Mayweather fight. Fail. Floyd almost got ko'd. Never seen Floyd like that. I was worried about him. Poor Floyd, all those years of not getting hit, perfect speech, no slur, all coming to an end right there. I was very impressed with how he handled it. Floyd is a true warrior and creating a new definition of "almost ko'd" doesn't change that.

Floyd didn't really do a chicken dance in there, it was more of a strut with a couple bobs of the head. He shook it off though.
Not sure why people think it's a big deal that he was shaken up after taking a flush right hand from Shane Mosley.

He was barely hurt, let alone almost knocked out. Not to mention he recovered instantly. Oh yeah, and who won the fight? What were the scorecards?

And now StreetsofRAGE's idea of an argument is to point out the fact that Floyd won the fight as evidence that he did not "almost get knocked out."

Do I have to explain this failure in logic to you, or do you see how who wins the fight has nothing to do with whether or not the winner almost got knocked out at an early point during the fight?

You morons might want to consider occasionally interpreting a statement as if it is simple candor and not a bashing attack on the fighter you have a crush on.
