Hopkins has power man, the man was called the executioner for a reason.
All his opponants and sparrings partner mention how physicaly strong Bernard is.

Mayweather right hand kept snapping Mosleys neck. He doesnt have a one punch KO power but if he keep connecting he can take you out of there if he wants to.

I think Floyd certainly has the power to earn Ortiz' respect but, truth be told, even if his shots bounce off Victor's chin, he'll still win.

When you have the defence, speed and ring awareness that Floyd has, you don't need power. You can create space with your movement and counter-punching. Whitaker didn't have power but, even against bigger men and pressure fighters, he always looked like he had all the time and space he needed.

Floyd does have enough pop to keep Ortiz innocent but not only that he has the accuracy to drop him coming in with one them straight right hands to the chin.

Ortiz has a Glass Jaw and a Glass Heart. Floyd will shatter both violently. That is all.:patsch

yes! floyd's power has been underappreciated and underrated to some point. how do you think he kept shane, oscar, and hatton at bay. that's because those simple sneaky straight rights take their toll.

People forget about how Ortiz behaved in his fights with Maidana and especially, when considering the upcoming fight with Floyd, the way he Ortiz behaved in the second half of his fight against Peterson. After knocking Peterson down 2 or 3 times and failing to KO him, Ortiz just kind of gave up on that fight. He hung around, willingly giving away rounds until the final bell rang, and thanked god when it finally did. That fight was less than a year ago.

Peterson is a slower, less powerful, less skilled, not genius level boxer version of what Ortiz will be in the ring with next month. Victor's only shot at winning this fight is to impose himself on Floyd early, and NEVER let Floyd get any momentum. Once Floyd gets any momentum in the fight he will present doubts in Victor's mind that he won't be able to shake, and Floyd will take over, breaking him down round by round.

He definitely has the power to hurt Floyd. but I severely doubt he has the mental strength and confidence in himself needed to win this fight.

That goes to show how strong Mosley's chin was before that fight, Floyd was knocking Mosley from pillar to post something a 154 De La Hoya couldn't do, Mayweather's power is to be respected, people forget that Floyd had vicious power in the lower weight divisions before his hand problems, he just starting back sitting down on his punches post retirement, so things is not looking good for the fragile chinned Ortiz.

Floyd's power has shown to be effective all the way up to 154 against a certified iron chinned hero, Oscar de La Hoya.

Floyd has fought guys with better chins such as Mosley and Hatton, he even KO'd Hatton.

He has more than enough firepower. I think Ortiz even gets stopped.
