You're missing a lot. GGG's defense seems to go unnoticed by his detractors mainly because his strength is his offense. If you pay close attention, GGG, like JCC, starts studying and stalking his foes from round one and the minute he
notices a weakness he goes in for the kill. If and when GGG notices that he can handle his opponent's power, then he does let his guard down a bit but by then
it's usually too late for the other guy.

Yeah, but GGG doesn't use the shoulder roll and he doesn't shake his head "no" when he gets landed on. Also, he isn't black and he doesn't even speak Spanish.
He's obviously a face first brawler/robotic plodder and we are all just "in luv wit duh power":rofl

OK...I agree with you 1000% that GGG sucks. Everything you say is right. You are a God of Boxing knowledge.

Now go away...we want to talk seriously about GGG.

he uses good footwork to deliver his power shots. he can take more of a risk like he showed in the geale fight and not get ko

I like his footwork. He stalks and cuts off the ring incredibly well. His foot placement allows for better punches and "control" over his opponents. His defense is nothing to brag about, he positions himself well defensively but doesn't really have much head movement. There was actually a noticeable improvement from the Stevens fight to the Geale fight. His accuracy is pretty sharp but Geale made him miss when Golovkin got "anxious" or aggressive. Loading up on his shots made it easier for Geale to evade.

Very good footwork, timing, boxing IQ, power. But he is fighting in a very weak MW era. The two recent champs who would have beaten him in their prime, Pavlik and Martinez, are gone now. When your competition in a division is 40-year old champions and blown-up JWWs, it's not hard to shine.

Very good at cutting off the ring, good footwork, fairly accurate, good jab (not a range finding jab either, he hurts guys with it).

His defense is underrated, you're not going to see him frolicking all over the ring or doing shoulder rolls. He's offensive minded (you'd think thats a bad thing now days with all these slick nut huggers), he catches a lot of punches on his gloves, rolls with some with the goal of hurting his opponent. Is he gonna get hit more than say a Mayweather or Rigondeaux? Of course, their goal in a fight is completely different.
