To compare a 1990's Tyson to Jeff Lacy should earn you the right to be shot with balls of your own puffy ****!:patsch

    Simple. He has one of the best hearts, chins, and conditioning of any heavyweight I've seen. He holds wins over;
    Bert Cooper
    Mike Tyson X2
    Riddick Bowe
    Valuev(IN MY OPINION)
    Ray Mercer
    Larry Holmes
    Dwight Muhammad Qawi
Fought the best, and ducked no one.
Competed well in a good divison
    has a great record

Why wouldn't he be reguarded highly..? He never gave up even when he was getting thrashed by Toney or Bowe.

I agree that peak Tyson beats peak Holyfield at Heavyweight. Post-88 Tyson was more a headhunter. He wanted to knock everyone out without putting in the work.

Holyfield was quicker yes, Marciano had more power, Holyfield had much better footwork, Marciano had the better body attack, Evander better defence, Marciano better stamina. Both are tough as they come, no chance it's a walk-over for Evander, I'd give the edge to Marciano, and not because he fought in B&W. But opinions are opinions.
Cooper may have weighed in 5 lbs heavier but Holyfield was physically bigger, the extra weight was from Cooper's gut. Holyfield was miles above Cooper in skill but had a much rougher night than anyone imagined, even if Cooper only won 1 round, he inflicted quite a bit of punishment on Holyfield that night.

    Can't agree mate!

Marciano had more power? Why? Think of who both guys fought for a minute and look at the weight disparities between opponents! Evander decked guys with single shots who outweighed him by 30lbs +

Marciano has a better body attack? Based on what fights?

Marciano had better stamina? See Holyfield vs. Quawi 1 and tell me there is a fighter with better stamina EVER! He lost litres of fluid that night and almost died from dehydration.

I'm not calling Evander feather fisted but Marciano had some brutal one punch KO's and I believe he hit harder. Holyfeild decked some big guys, Douglas and Bowe , but did not seem to pack the one punch power that Marciano had.

Marciano broke LaStarza down to the body and arms before opening him up for the KO, Marciano often used this strategy to wear guys down, Charles and Walcott also took a lot of punishment to the body. I'm not a Marciano historian so I haven't seen all of his fights and I could be misled by these performances.
Stamina I gave the edge to Marciano but it's close, Rocky was relentless in his attack and would punch at any opening his opponent gave him, shoulders, elbows, etc. eventually wearing them down. He relied on stamina to win fights whereas Holyfield usually didn't have to.
The first Qawi fight is obviously amazing but **** I gave the edge to Rocky and I'm sticking to it.
Do you really think Holyfield would use Marciano as a heavy bag or did you just get caught up in the moment?:D

I think you're fooling yourself if you think Cooper gave Holyfield hell. He had one good moment in round 3 and was dominated the rest of the way. Even in round 3 Cooper was dominated after he had his moment.

In his prime he had one of the greatest chins iv ever seen and had a huge heart. He stood toe 2 toe with guys far bigger than him and even beat them. Hes definately an ATG IMO.
