overeem is also weak mentaly and in the chin. I would never favor overeem over badr or say they are even because hari is far more talented of a kickboxer the way he can move, throw combos and the power he has, ooohh sweet pudding! he is a coordinated dastardly devastating destroyer..........but cant stay focused and makes mistakes and loses control. overeem will never win the gp but hari can, and probably will. I think their last encounter proved this, it was one sided dizzying display of destruction.
I know Overeem has a average at best chin but mentally? I always thought he was fine. Not on Hari's level anyway, mentally. If it doesn't go Hari's way he gets frustrated and starts doing stupid ****, like stomping on downed opponents. Twice. Mentality of a kid. No doubt Hari is a better kickboxer and would be considered an underachiever if he didn't win a GP, but his weaknesses mean that he will always be vulnerable to guys like Overeem who have the power and technique to put him on his arse. As a fan of Ubereem, I will forever hold the glint of hope that he may win the WGP.:bart
Is this meant to be a sign of mental weakness? :think I don't know, to me it looks like he gassed. Then again that itself is a big problem, gassing after 4 minutes of fighting. His stamina is a bit of a question mark tbh, as he hasn't been in any long hard fights since then, unless you count the K-1 bouts with Bonjasky and Aerts.
it isnt hard evidence of the fact that he can be mentally broken, but it appears to me that the pressure keritonov was placing on him was breaking him, I think it is also true with the liddel fight as well. just how I see it, but trying to run away from your opponent in the middle of a fight doesnt look good for any fighters mental toughness.
Yeah, it doesn't look good, but personally I just don't think it is a sign of mental weakness, in this case anyway. Overeem was blowing hard before the finish. I think he was spent.
I do appreciate alistair overeem, and like to see him fight in k1 or mma. I just dont see him being the gp champ, thats not a huge strike against him considering the talent level and all the challenges a fighter has to overcome to be k1 gp champion.
