This criteria is deeply flawed and you know it.
Money has to be generated by box office appeal and being a PPV attraction.
Simply being higher up in the ATG league is fine and dandy, but it doesnt generate big bucks all by itself; the money is generated by being popular and marketable irrespective of talent levels.
Its not a piece of pie that already exists, with the more worthy getting the bigger piece,no........being box-office makes the pie, regardless of the fighters relative talents.

    True it is...
Though with this, we can atleast see how far away pac is from hatton with respect to greatness..

And how far is away is hatton from pac with respect to who brings more money? Not very far if you ask me..

So in fairness, pac should get a little bit more..

when you mean box office does it mean uk only or worldwide. bec not only UK people are watching this fight. The fight will be watched worldwide and i think PAC is the bigger draw. So 50/50 my ass.
I'm only trying to prove the disparity in PAC and Hatton status.
And to those dumbass who's blaming PAC about the fight being off.

Hatton is NOT the most popular fighter in the world.. It is pac who defeated de la hoya which btw was the face of boxing. Hatton just happens to bring a lot of money from UK. Get facts straight.

Well if your a hatton fan, UK probably means worldwide.

It's like saying Hatton is the best 135. It's just stupid.

for what pac has achieved he can rank as high as 25. only less than 9 fighters have won 4 titles in different weight classes. only 2 henry armstrong and pac have fought in three divisional bouts in a year. pac the only fighter to win world champ at flyweight to lightweight, he also has a record of 6-1-1 against Hall of famers. that record is as good as any in the top 25

Dude, he brought 30,000 over for the Mayweather fight because that was a HUGE fight. Did 30,000 come to see Ricky fight Collazo? Malignaggi? No. Again, Hatton is a tremendous LIVE draw in the UK all by himself. His fanbase is so enthusiastic and supportive they will pay to see him fight a retired lightweight because they love Ricky so much. But they won't buy PPV in the millions or travel to see him fight in the US UNLESS HE'S FIGHTING ANOTHER STAR. You Hatton fanclub members act like he brings in Hatton vs Mayweather numbers even when he's fighting guys who aren't stars.

The money Hatton generated and fan support Hatton generated for the fight with Mayweather was an incredible achievement. I've been a hardcore fight fan for about a decade and have NEVER seen a fighters fanbase support him in such a manner when fighting away from home. I might never see it again. But please put down the illusion that Hatton generates these kind of numbers for EVERY fight, because it's false. Sure, his fans chanted "there's only 1 Ricky Hatton" while he was laying flat on his back after getting brutally stopped by Mayweather, but a rather large portion of those singing Hatton fanatics stayed home when Ricky returned to Vegas to fight Malignaggi.

    Compare these numbers:

30,000 fans from the UK in Vegas for Mayweather vs Hatton, 8,000 Hatton fanatics in Vegas and an incredible million + PPV buys in the UK with 850,000 in the US, 8,000 Hatton fanatics in Vegas for Hatton vs Malignaggi, free HBO and an undisclosed PPV number in the UK.

You seriously think SkySports would keep mum about PPV numbers for Hatton vs Malignaggi if the number was huge?
