    My point is that he did say it was pointless even saying something to the effect of ' that worked out alright for him' with a laugh after this section highlighted above.

    He didn't brag, he was asked a question, he answered the question. Listen to this weeks Sky Sports Toe 2 toe podcast where the quote was plucked from if you don't believe me

    But it isn't and he isn't.

    Fair enough he answered a question that he wad asked but he elaborated plenty to imply he thought knocking out someone who had boxed for a year was a great feat.
