I really don't think malignaggi would change his weight that much even if he had to go up....he comes in on fight night 147-149.....I really don't think he would add more weight, it would kill his speed and movement....he will still come in the same for just 1 WW fight...

    Fair enough.

Now please enlighten me on this potential match up

A guy with no power (malignaggi) against a guy who wont engaged (floyd). Is this another glorified tune-up for floyd???

Don't ppl think before they post anymore, for the de la hoya fight, he came up 2 weight classes from 135, a weight he had just moved upto. 147 was the max it was going to go up to at that moment in time. Now he is comfortable at 140's+ (i think 140 is his best weight mind), he is gonna try go up again.

So simple when you think first.

First off I pick floyd by a comfortable UD....Yes, I'm a fan of paulie as you can see, but i'm not your typical fan boy....I know his limits.....

Malignaggi is a jabber and a ring general(when he is at his best)....He is not going to change his style, and he himself doesn't like to engage....Marquez engaged mayweather because he has that life and death attitude even though he is a natural counter-puncher....

This will play-out one of 2 ways.....Either mayweather goes on the offensive for a change because paulie won't engage period, and will throw 60-80 jabs a round, and move...making floyd chase...and floyd can deal with it, because he has a good offensive arsenal himself.....

Or It will be like the marquez fight, where malignaggi has to go on the offensive and gets picked apart.....

Both guys are pretty good in the sweet science...One is elite the other is a good fighter......and I would be curious just to see the technical side of this match-up....It's a purists fight of the sweet science, if you look at both guys....

    That's my take....

Then why couldnt he fight Cotto at 147???

Besides he isnt going to fight Foreman at 154, its likely going to be like 148-149 and *******s like yourself will have no problem with that:patsch

Neither of both, althoug Pac would be more interesting to watch cause at least he´s always looking for a KO and going up in weight is always a challenge, eventhough Foreman is the weakest champ in the division (same with diaz...)

Mayweather vs Malignaggi it will be boring, Paulie has no power at all and its going to be a shutout UD for floyd.....(Floyd needs a real challenge, its amazing how he takes care of his "0"........How can Paulie be a threat for him??? give me a break!)

B-Scene says Cotto was moving up to fight Foreman in March so I'm confused on how Pacquiao/Foreman is still on.

But I'd rather watch that then Mayweather Jr/Hatton.

Why hasn't May fought a real welter of any note since becoming a welter like 5 years back? We can consistently go back an forth, like why didn't May fight a real welter on his comeback instead of him making the lil man come up 2 weight divisions and then came in the same 2lbs over that Pac asked Cotto to drop. Cotto knew he had to come in at 145, JMM didn't know that May was gonna come in 2lbs over.

But Maytards like yourself had no problems with that.

The reason for the weight drop is to make a better match up, Cotto is a full blown welter and i don't regard Pac as one. Its like saying why don't Real Madrid play my local park team; cause its a bad match up.

You should be asking yourself is how comes Pac has taken on one of the best welters in the division while May in the past 5 years has not fought ANY welter of note.
