Yep, but we both know that not every boxing fan in the U.S is going to subscribe to this fight, given that it's a PPV. Again, I think anything over 200k should be deemed a success.

How much will it cost over there?

Of course, EVERY boxing fan in the US doesn't buy every PPV fight. EVERY boxing fan in the US isn't going to buy GGG-Canelo, either.

The point is you don't need "casuals" all the time. "Casual" fans rarely buy PPVs ever.

If boxing fans buy it, it'll do fine.

ANY US PPV buys are just icing on the cake, because the current crop of heavyweights haven't sold ONE DOLLAR in US PPVs.

The US market could sell one-third the number of PPVs UK does, and would generate the same amount of money the UK brings in (because PPVs cost more here). That's why the US PPV market is important.

I'll hold you to that, because I think it's going to do MUCH better than that.

Similar numbers. Vlad v fury did 430k

Whyte v Parker did over 400k buys

I'm looking at other "big" fights in recent times that haven't done crazy numbers, and simply putting 2 and 2 together. Wilder is unproven as a PPV fighter, as you've acknowledged, and neither is Fury.

It's a bit of an unknown really, how well Wilder sells. All I can say is that boxing in the U.S seems to be on a downward spiral in terms of PPVs. I could be wrong, mind, but every time I listen to an American podcast on the subject this seems to be their line of thought.

I personally hope it does well. I'll be watching it.

To be fair though the US POV are 3-4x more expensive than the UK. So really if the hit 200k they eclipse the ppv revenue of Whyte vs Parker.

With Fury we can compare apples with apples.

Klitchko v Fury 430k ppv buys

AJ v Klitchko over a 1 mil ppv buys.

 Holy ****ing **** are you shooting for the moon!

Name one US PPV that was successful and did not feature Pacquiao, Floyd, Cotto or Alvarez.(recent years)
And even Cotto and Alvarez have struggled.

You are claiming that Fury-Wilder coming close to Pacquiao and Mayweather type of numbers is conservative...
A 7.5m gate would make it the 35th largest Nevada boxing gate.

I am sorry, but you are just way off there. Especially when using the word "conservative".

They will be lucky to break 400k. And i figure thats the numbers most are expecting, including the promotional side for the fight.
Fans seem to forget how hard and actually rare it is to get close to a mil buys.

Your comparing Wilder and Fury to Mayweather and McGregor lad, even Hatton, your opinion or facts or whatever you want to call them are absolutely delusional, especially considering Joshua, Whyte and Haye make bucketloads more than Fury in the UK. 400k PPV buys is having a good crack at it for these pair of clowns.

Just because DAZN is free to subscribers that month doesn't mean the fighters aren't being paid for it. What kind of stupid thought process led you to that assumption?

The Wilder v Fury fight doesn't do anything close to 750k buys in the US. Canelo v Khan is an optimistic comparison of the fight and that didn't even do 750k buys.

Interesting, also, that you seem to have discounted any contribution from Russia on the Joshua side.

All that being said, Wilder v Fury SHOULD be a bigger fight. Why is that a surprise?

    500k UK buys?

    500,000 x 20 quid = 10,000,000 quid......

Klitschko v Fury generated just 4,000,000 more than this from all PPV+Sponsorship.

    Your off your trolley man.

If Wilder beats Fury he def will be #1 and if he brutally knocks him out he will be as big of a draw as AJ is and maybe even bigger.
No need for wilder to be as popular in US as AJ is in UK, coz if wilder generates 500k ppv’s in US it’s worth more than 1mil UK ppv’s .
I have a feeling that after Wilder knocks Fury out, british stiff will be forced to fight wilder and split the purse 50/50.

Fury isn't as 'popular' in the UK as some of you're making out.

'Lineal HW champ'..........(I use that phrase lightly)

    On a Carl Frampton undercard.

    Enough said.
