I think it will do over 100k, if it doesn’t that would a monumental flop.

What's insane is you didn't name one PPV that took place over the last 12 years.

In 1997, most homes didn't even have PCs. Laptops and smart TVs didn't exist. In 2006, Netflix was a service where you filled out a card listing three movies you wanted to see and they mailed you one DVD (in the mail) and you mailed the one DVD back (in the mail) when you were finished watching it.

I think your examples are pretty useless here.

Wilder's been consistently drawing one to two million viewers in the US to his fights. Fury is very popular in the UK.

This is the PBC's first PPV fight. They'll likely load the undercard with other name fighters. They have all built their own modest followings, too.

The PPV buys in the US and the UK will do fine. (And Joshua's fights being on PPV have gotten UK fans comfortable ordering fights.) If the fight is exciting, the rematch will sell more.

Everyone saying it won't sell will either be buying it or will be frantically asking everyone else watching who is winning. Because we're boxing fans. And it's one of the best matchups that can be made right now.

It'll be the biggest boxing PPV show of the year.

Not exactly a box office star is he.

I don't understand why there's no option for 'Wilder or Fury should be paying AJ for the honour of sharing the ring with him and they should surrender their purses to him as well as the contents of their bank accounts and their oxen and womenfolk and they should rightly swear fealty to him unto the end of their days.'

all you needed in 1997 to order a ppv was cable or satellite, which almost everyone had.
