60/40 is the right split, most likely. The large percentage of votes for the 50/50 split just shows the lack of business knowledge floating around here. The split is based on math, not feeling or emotion. Canelo drives most of the revenue. It doesn't matter that he failed the drug tests. 55/45 split is the fairest one The truth is Canelo brings hoards of mexican fights, people that dont watch any other fights other than Canelo. I know several of these.
as a fan, i would call that fair, canelo has cost ggg some money, but 45% of what canelo is gonna pull into the kitty will cover what a couple of fights vs the pretenders would have made him. its time to cut the bull, get this signed, and give the fans what they want.
In the interest of making the fight I think 55/45 in favour of the Mexican Beef Boy. It's gives Canelo the larger slice if that what his ego demands and it's still great purse for Golovkin, better than anything he'd get anywhere else. I just want to see the rematch.
I doubt its about ego. Its about principal. GGG isn't a big enough draw to deserve even 30%, but GBP are always very generous.

yeah, and canelo wasnt shortchanged in any part of that. canelo didnt just take his money, canelo took 2 of his fights, in a career that i will bet money, will not remain undefeated 3 more fights, when he will be completely shot. he couldve bounced murata and bj round the ring for ppv money, and carve his name in stone, but he got done dirty.
Remember, El Pollo is a cheat, not just PEDS, but judges, referee, boxing commission, hell he gets everything. Golovkin clearly beat him in the first fight and should get 50/50 as El Pollo should be punished for taking PEDS, but the WBC seems to approve of El Pollo's PEDS for some reason, could it be Oscar? How many Byrds can El Pollo have?
