Floyd won't be able to keep Chavez off him, at 130 or 140 Chavez via decision and at 135 Chavez via late stoppage.

 

I got Floyd winning atleast 8-4, maybe 9-3!

Ppl judge Floyd mostly on there bias and dislike, not by the fact that he is highly skilled and prolly boxin ultimate package! Let's not mention some here don't want him or view him as a great fighter for those reasons above so they try and throw a past great at him to validate there points!

IMO Floyd would dominate JCC winning big rds, and clear rds where as JCC would win a couple close rds where he didn't look as bad! Whittaker, and Taylor gave JCC hell so imagine a fighters w/both of there best attributes. Floyd wouldn't tire so the notion that JCC would wear him out is bogus. I'd be more concerened about JCC in the later rds. Against Taylor JCC was given a gift stoppage w/2secs left in a fight he was losing, but had an opponent in front of him he could hit hard and often from his rib cage to head. In whittaker he had an opponent who was crafty, slick, speedy and defensive, but who's offense was....well lets just say not that impressive. I still believe he won, but trying to be an entertainer instead of racking up points, and landing more doesn't help! I'm a big Pea fan, but sorry guys, he could've made it easier for himself.

Floyd would do both in abundance. You don't have to throw a thousand punches to be effective. He'd have JCC chasing and running in to clean effective shots all night, while avoiding JCC's vicious brutal body attack. JCC was aggressive, and a good pressure fighter, but he wasn't a fast one and that's why Taylor was able to constantly beat him to the punch and pile up points, while Pea avoided him making him look foolish at times! Floyd would do both, and do it all night long! Floyd might not throw his jab as much as Pea, but he has a very good jab that he would stick in JCC face. The kicker would be the jab to the body that he throws which if you watch his fights with, DLH, Judah, Hatton, Gatti, and most of his opponents is a shot that is very effective, and damaging over time! I don't see JCC being able to deal w/the speed, defense, and Floyd's own offense!:nono

PPl please stop bringing up the 1st JLC fight. Floyd was injured, and still won, and made it clear he was the better fighter in the 2nd fight. Now imagine Floyd healthy, and JLC injured for the 1st fight!:hi:

 

Bull****. This has been discussed. Both have pretty much equal KO percentages at 135 and above, whereas Floyd has no one punch KO's to his credit, compared to the 2 by Pea over Nazario and Lomeli(though it took a few more shots for the ref to call it off).

 

This guy's talking about Floyd hurting Chavez to the body.

Chavez was tough and durable, but I believe Floyd would definately get to him w/that Jab to the body especially late in the fight!

 

PBF has always been kind of weak and at 135 Chanez would have ravaged him to strong!

 

I thought we were talking about a prime Chavez.

And if you think Floyd's body jab is a drainer, you clearly just don't seem to realize who he's up against, seeing as you're comparing him with one of the best body punchers of all time, and one with much more power.

 

The idea that Floyd would be the one to hurt Chavez to the body in this fight is laughable. If PBF tried his old rope-a-dope tactic in this fight once he'd get a shattered rib and it would be good night, a la Hatton-Castillo.

 

FOR THE LAST TIME.... CHAVEZ PEAK WAS 1987 NOT 1990.

Chavez lost a lot of speed & reflexes & more relied on his toughness & power at 140 lbs vs Taylor & co.

Chavez at 130 & especially at 135 vs Rosario was better, just as tough, more or less hit as hard, could fight at a faster pace & could make you miss with super head movement & had faster hands.

The good thing is... Both were at their peak in similar weight classes so its easier to imagine them face off.

I dont think Floyd has enough pop in his punch to stop Chavez from being Chavez, I think PBFs ribs & liver take a pounding like never before in this one.

I see Floyd wanting out after 9 rds but having the will to hang on for a pts loss.... prime Chavez was just too much for Floyd.

Truly GREAT fighters do do that- so Floyd Mayweather doesn't.

They would have fought at lightweight or light-welterweight. At this weight I think Chavez would have had enough energy and pace to close Floyd down too effectively and win the fight the way Castillo did (should have) in his 1st fight with PBF at lightweight.

PBF was no Pernell Whitaker mate, get that straight.

 

For a start, the styles of Whitaker and Mayweather were completely different, so I think it is you who is forgetting what Mayweather is. Mayweather couldn't fight on the back foot like Whitaker did v Chavez, and prime Chavez isn't ****ing Diego Corrales or Arturo Gatti.

 

Im not comparing Hatton to Chavez, but didn't Mayweather KO Hatton off his back foot?
