I think this would have been a great fight with Cotto only slightly ahead on the scorecards before being kod in the 12th.

    Cotto on points.

I never seen him in action before but I have faith that he can win this.

If you have never seen palomino, than you really do not have a valid opinion on this fight. Why did you pick cotto?

Palomino. I like Cotto, have done since his early days, but Palomino would break him down in grueller.

When he fought the very best, Palomino found a way to lose:

    Cotto WU15 (9-6)

all you have to do is see palomino once and you'll know anyone can beat him. Johnny Bumphus and Marlon Starling included and yes, even Andy - look ma no chin - Price

My god Johnny Bumphus:patsch Would have been ktfod. Starling might decision Palomino though. THe price loss was In palominos 12th fight, anyways Price was a good fighter at times,He beat pipino right before Cuevas won the title. Getting knocked out by Leonard doesnt mean you got a weak chin, and which fight did you see Palomino in? Earlier u said u never seen him fight. Palomino beat Muniz two times and Muniz was a good fighter. He also was competetive with Benitez in his prime.Knocked out Stracey and defended his title 7 times. What makes Cotto such a superior fighter? Only one who outclassed him was Duran(no shame in that) in fact Cotto would have been knocked out by Duran. Palomino even gave a prime Rivera all he could handle and Palomino was hitting 50!!

Which is why he'd have little trouble hammering Cotto into the ground like a nail.:good

    :D Nice try!

I too, also love to think that anything to come out of this post 80s sport, could not touch the heroes and legends we all once worshipped, but sadly it is not true.:-(

Cotto is a very fine fighter, who could of competed and been top 10 in any era of the 147lbs division, he probably is a little bit above Carlos.

That wasn't my point at all, but nice try on your part as well.

Cotto is an average boxer in comparison to the elite WW's. How would he go about winning this bout? Carlos has him beat as far as power goes (particularly with that left hook), and has him beat 10 fold as far as durability goes. The styles clash clearly favors him, as Cotto does not have anywhere near the pure boxing skills to keep Palomino at bay the way Benitez did. In a tear up he'd get broken down by the bigger, stronger, more powerful, more durable fighter. He'd get beat up down the stretch the same way Margarito beat him, except Carlos wouldn't have as difficult a time early on. I can't even see Cotto lasting the distance, much less winning.

palomino turns this into a war of attrition and grinds cotto down and stops him around the 11th
