All Dawson's tall, rangy advantages at light heavy would be completely gone at heavyweight against Chris and he couldn't keep Arreola at range like he did to Glenn Johnson or like Vitali did to Arreola. I don't think Chris is that one-dimensional, actually. He's got no defense but his offense, so he's not a great fighter, but he's a damn good offensive fighter and he knows how to get inside on most opponents and unleash hell in combinations. I don't think he's that slow either. He just looks like he should be. He'd destroy Dawson because Dawson doesn't have the size or strength to keep him off. Skill only means so much if you're giving that much away elsewhere. Dawson is of course more skilled than Arreola, but it just wouldn't be enough. It'd be like saying Mayweather is much more skilled than Dawson, so would he do well in the ring with him? No, he wouldn't.
Interesting fight but I can't see Arreola dealing with Dawsons speed at all. Apart from the Klitschko's and Haye, Dawson would probably beat every heavyweight out there.
i have to disagree, especially in light of the fact that he said he could easily drop to 168 again if he needed to. despite his frame, i don't think he has the ability to bulk up to 200 or the durability to handle a heavyweight fight. besides, he doesn't hit harder for 175, he couldn't dent any chins at 200
I guess I have been under a rock the last couple weeks. Is Dawson going up to heavy? If so, what an interesting addition he'd make. Wow. I'd be good to see Adamek avenge that loss in another weight division. Dawson is an incredible fighter, and it'd be interesting to see him in the heavyweight division. Tall fighter who would probably fill out well and become a big lean, fast heavyweight.
