This post might trigger some AJ fans and could possible get me banned... im posting this because i couldnt find anything about this topic on this forum or reddit so i keep seeing alot of people on reddit, youtube & twitter til this day saying AJ did not quit and that he wanted to continue but the referee stopped the fight so what do you think, did Anthony Joshua quit? explain why
I voted yes, but I don't see quitting as the terrible horror show that so many other fans seem to see it as, I don't think of it as a disaster. There are lots of ways to quit and it's absolutely apparent that he is three, four, five, ten times more into fighting on after it's been stopped than before. Sam Langord quit. So did Joe Gans. So did Mike Tyson. So did Roberto Duran. IT's somehow too good for Joshua? No, it is not.
I'm not a huge AJ fan but id say no He looked to want out ,sure but he didn't pull out or tell anyone he wasn't fighting anymore He would have carried on if the ref hadn't called it albeit with even worse results id imagine
No, he looked like a man on death row waiting for his number to be called and like he didn't want to be in there but I do not believe the point of Critical No Mas had been reached yet at that particular time. That being said, fat running from muscle as he did in the rematch is a terrible optic from the perspective of the casual fan and your average punter because they're uneducated and very ignorant regarding the magical properties of super fat and I do believe that he is still being haunted by an obese ghost to this day.
If you get your brain rattled around your head a few times and your body doesn’t like it then what can you do? I'm sure if he could continue he would’ve and would’ve wanted to but wanting something that your body can no longer put up with then you have to stop. AJ and the referee both knew it. AJ is just too stubborn to say I can’t continue, he’s just lucky the ref saw otherwise and stopped it because it could’ve been career ending if some of the other referees were involved live to tell the tale and fight another day/get revenge
I watched it recently (needed cheering up) and actually the stoppage was a little questionable. I think the referee didn't notice the spit mouth piece, which isn't really quitting even if it is crappy.
The Bodybuilder quit, no ifs, ands, or buts. The Bum Dosser wanted out. He didn't posses the ring iq to handle the diabetic angry bird and his fragile mentally couldn't handle that fact, instead of fighting til the bitter end, he quit. Pathetic. Imagine if it were Fury in that ring, getting battered, well i cant imagine it because Fury is invincible but if Fury was getting beat up he wouldn't quit, he'd go out on his shield like a true humble warrior.
