I was looking on the Rosstraining indoor conditioning options .The only boxer I know that doesn't do roadwork is Juan Diaz .Do you think 6 3 minute rounds Burpees 30 seconds to 1 minute rest is enough for cardio and fitness for sparring and fighting instead of roadwork.

As a fighter, there is nothing worse than possessing the desire to train, while lacking the resources necessary to apply this motivation. Consider morning roadwork as a classic example. Roadwork has been a staple in the conditioning of combat athletes since the beginning of time. But what happens on those mornings when you are unable to run due to poor weather conditions? What can a fighter do when outdoor roadwork is not an option?

Perform 4 to 6 rounds. Each round should range from 2 to 3-minutes, depending on the condition of the athlete.

I want up to masters programme this is my goals

Vince Lombardi once said, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all".
Burpee Intervals are one of the best ways to nullify these words. Champion athletes learn to mask fatigue, and fight through exhaustion. Let's summarize a few sample routines:

    Beginner Program

4 x 2-minute rounds with 1 minute of rest between rounds

    Intermediate Program(s)

6 x 2-minute rounds with 1 minute of rest between rounds
4 x 3-minute rounds with 1 minute of rest between rounds

    Advanced Program

6 x 3-minute rounds with 1 minute of rest between rounds

    Master's Program

6 x 3-minute rounds with 30 seconds of rest between rounds

im a huge fan of burpees and rosstraining , i selected NO though

NO one exercise will prepare you for anything except doing that exercise better!

Burpees are one of the best exercises going for conditioning, however if i did burpees exclusively i wouldnt expect to be fit enough to spar and fight in the AMs..... id expect to be extremely good at burpees though

personally burpees is one of the best thing for fitness and conditioning. I know when i do my burpess im very fit and my legs are strong. I can spar more rounds then when i dont do burpess. Ofcourse you still need to run and do your padwork but burpees is definitely a great way to get your conditioning up.

sorry but i have to disagree, ofcourse you need to have the skill to be able to box but there is other way to reach peek condition other then just boxing training. Boxing training comes first, skill beats most fighters but as you should know your self, when you gas it doesnt matter how skillful you are. You arnt able to do what you want to when you are tired.

Ive been neglecting my usual roadwork lately in favour of shadow boxing/burpee interval rounds and then stair runs afterwards and I think its definately a good fitness workout. Still its good to mix it up with running though

  14. Burpees are good to mix up with other forms of training but i feel there a bit overated in terms of what they do for your fitness

Without a doubt burpees are great, but again, without a doubt to get in shape for boxing, you need to do a lot of sparring, and pad work - high pace, moving around, doing what you will do in the fight. Heavy bag is ok but you can get lazy or go at your own pace or not move a lot and the like.
