Poll: Does Pacquiao have a chance to beat Oscar De La Hoya! State you reasons please!

If you bet 1€ on DLH you get 1.35€ back, 1€ on pacman will give you 3.5€. I still put a little money on DLH. I think once you see pacman stand next to dlh in the ring you won't give him that much of a chance any more. It's like a 5th grader taking on a 7th grader.

Yeah, but Forbes was able to use a dose of jabs and did well defensively. I just don't see Pac doing the same thing.

I just hope Pac can take DLH's punches, weather the storm 1st 6 rounds and stay on him like white on rice for whole 3 mins each round.

 

I think Pacquiao wins this.

The best punch against a southpaw is the right down the pipe. We all know De La Hoya's right is relatively poor and against a nippy, elusive(in terms of footwork etc) he will probably find it harder than ever to use the right effectively.

Now to the left hook. As a few have noted, De La Hoya's uses his left hook against opponents for a certain height. At least effectively. So, if his timing his slightly off with that shot, Manny will get inside easily and pepper Oscar.

The jab is the big problem. If Oscar commands the fight with his jab Manny will be frustrated. However, I see Manny surprising Oscar with his speed and ability to get inside the jab and Oscar deciding to abandon it and instead use his size and power.

This will suit Manny and he will outwork and outmanouver Oscar to a UD down the stretch.

 

the only chance i am giving pac is a flash ko if he can pull it off and if it would be as an affective punch to a larger guy in dlh.

1. DLH is past his prime.
2. Pac is in his prime.
3. Pacman is too fast.
4. DLH is too slow to keep up.
5. The past has shown size doesn't matter.

i maybe wrong with the result but i am really glad being wrong.
also this is a question about chance, i did say 5~10% and pacquiao did what i expected of him for that window of probability.

 

for example, amsterdam, why didn't you pick some posts like this where a poster didn't even give pac a single percent of a chance? why pick my post instead which is less "comical" because i did gave pac a "chance". lol
