Of course he has a chance......the favor is stacked against him in this fight but I'm not counting him out completely. Youth, Speed, Reflexes, Southpaw stance are all on his side but he gives up power and size to DLH. Two huge advantages.

    Chance ????

Of course . . . anybody who climbs the ring has a chance. What if DLH suddenly suffers from cramps? What is DLH hurt both his hands? :D

75/25% for a DLH victory. 25% is still a chance for Pacquiao :deal

You've changed your tune. Just weeks ago you were claiming the only way Pac can win this fight is if ODLH throws it. Now youre giving him a 25% chance?

    Yes, he has a chance.

Firstly, this is boxing. But mainly, what give Pac a chance is the weight. Oscar should be moving up in weight at his time in his life. His body composition is changing at this time. He should be moving up if anything. If he were to arrive at the ring dehydrated and Pacquiao lands a power punch, it is not only the case that he could be beaten, but seriously hurt. I will promise you this. There will not be a safe level of fluid in Oscar De La Hoya's brain to obsorb a sustained beating. Of course, Manny cannot give him one. But the bottom line is, this fight is not safe for either protagonist.

However, Oscar is a pro with a pretty safe style. He will be well prepared by the unfortunate cutting edge of modern sports science in boxing - weight-making. He should win and handily. But it is certainly not impossible for the opposite to occur.

But Pac can do that.. In his fight with Diaz, it didn't not brawl with him.. He jumped in, threw some combinations in the inside, and stepped to the aside to avoid being hit.. Also, at times when Diaz would throw a punch, Pacquiao would throw one at the same time, but turn his head so Diaz' punch would go by while Pac's shot connected to an open head shot.. DLH doesn't have the reflexes to get his shots off before Pacs.. Pac can make him miss by simply dodging and the jab and hook while getting in the inside, throw some combos, and then stepping out to the side quickly to avoid being hit.. Pac and Roach are smart and I think they know not to make the fight with DLH a war, but Pac isn't gonna' back down..

Yeah, the dehydration...that's Oscar's biggest worry, I think. He seems to be really disciplined and he certainly seems to know how to do it right too...He didn't go up in weight much after Forbes, and that will help too, I guess. I think he'll be just about OK on the night even with the dehydration. True, though, if he isn't fit, a couple of great punches from a non-dehydrated Pac and he'd feel them. Still...would you give Pac more than 20% at this stage?

No, I don't think so. I think something closer to 1 in 10, 1 in 12, something like that. By the time common-garden dehydration takes hold in round 8 or 9, if Manny hasn't been pulled he will be firmly dominated with no going back. In my opinion MOST of Pac's chances are connected with Oscar recieving an injury due to to extreme dehydration, the chacnes of this, thanfully, are small, but they do exsist IMO.

Let me ask you something. Say Oscar murders himself to make the weight and he makes it. He is recieving advice that his health may be in jepordy in a new and dangerous way. You think he could walk away?

Pretty much. They're entirely depending upon Oscar's ability to make weight without killing himself.

If he is unable to make weight, his chances jump from menial to possible.

I think a cut is his biggest worry, because of dehydration. Would you not agree?

To answer your question, I think he knows his limits very well and wouldn't have started on this road if he had not been sure he could go through with it without putting his health in serious danger. And, yeah, I think that if he was just 2 pounds over the limit and realised losing those 2 pounds would put his health in serious danger, he'd just come up with an excuse to cancel the fight: "hurt his hand sparring", etc. The man is addicted to getting in the ring and the big lights and huge paydays, but he has a hell of a lot of money already, a great promotional company that makes a hell of a lot of money, and a family to look after. He's not desperate nor dumb. He'd do the right thing and cancel, I think.

Two problems with you assesment one Diaz isn't Oscar period he's not in his class hell a shot EM beat him but didn't get the nod. Two Diaz doesn't have the jab of Oscar nor the size nor the power. Oscar has the speed and reach to catch Pac from the outside as well not to mention Pac's defense is average at best and he will be a sitting duck for Oscar's jab for which he'll have no answer for and the left hook. There's really nothing Pac can do to beat Oscar he's not going to outbox him and he's not going to out brawl him either. He basiclly has no chance and this fight should have never been made in the first place. I realize people want to see Pac win, hell I would like nothing more than a Pac's hands raised in victory but at the end of the day I'm a realist and I see this fight for what it and that's is a money grab side show that will result in Pac being slaughtered.:-(

I agree that Diaz isn't Oscar nor does he have the jab like him, but thats why Pac has to be more cautious and avoid the jab.. Pac will be the quicker fighter and will have the faster reflexes.. He'll be able to make DLH miss here and there.. Pac's footwork has been improving and we're gonna' see a lot of that come fight time.. He'll come at different angles with quick combonations to the body in which I think could cause DLH some problems.. I could be wrong, but I think this fight is gonna' be more competitive than you think.. Then theres the whole ordeal with DLH's weight issues..

1/3 of the people on this poll give pacman no chance. That's unbelievable ignorant.

Nobody knows what will happen in the fight. That's why opinions vary so widely.

-Oscar could carry pac to a decision.

-Oscar could wreck pac and put on an believeable performance (which he sadly wouldn't get enough credit for)

-Pac could KO oscar....If Pac is deadly accurate with his shots as he often can be, this is possible. Especially cuz oscar fades as the fight goes on whereas pacman has consistently high energy.

-Pac could outbox/outwork oscar. Pac will likely throw more punches and will likely be more active.

ANY OF THOSE ARE POSSIBILIJTIES...NO1 KNOWS UNTIL THE FIGHT HAPPENS. AND THAT IS WHY EVERYOEN WILL WATCH THIS FIGHT; BECAUSE NOBODY KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN!
