Poll: Does Prince 'Naz' Hamed deserve spot in Boxing's Hall of Fame?

Hamed is probably one of the most naturally talented fighters ever. Incredible entertainer, and a decent resume. But he could have achieved a lot more.

He clearly did his job as a pro then. For his non fans to actually make the effort to pass on comment on him, suggests an emotional attachment.

His management were not stupid. It did not bother them weather you paid (or turned on TV) to watch win or lose, as long as he had fame, he could make money.

I agree with the wanker part but to criticise his resume is ridculous.
He's just short of atg status imo.His defeat to MAB prevents him from being that.

 

I'm not sure, but I think that at one point he should have been the undisputed champ but not for the sanctioning body stripping his oppenent of the title just before the fight?

 

He became the Featherweight Champion of the World when he beat Vazquez... (Sanchez died, thus Pedroza became champ; Pedroza lost to McGuigan; who lost to Cruz; who lost to Esparragoza; who lost to Park; who lost to Rojas; who lost to Vazquez; who lost to Naseem, in one of his finest performances).

 

of course he gets in. yes he was a ****, but he was also top drawer and truly world class, just short of elite, but since when did that stop you getting in canastota?

When I see fighters like Papp or Johansson are in the IBHOF, than it would be criminal if Hamed wouldn´t get in there...

 

that's how i see it.

on genuine great achievements then he fell a bit short.

but in terms of the fact he was a very good fighter and the impact he had on the sport then yes. :good

i think he should go in.i wasn't a big fan,but his resume is good.he may not have beaten a great featherweight but he beat good ones,and remember many have him down as possibly the hardest hitting feather ever.put the whole package together with him probably transcending the sport and he just about deserves to go in.

 

Some of the ******ed comments in this thread make me wonder i bothered reading this thread.

as has Kurgan, Borochris and Luigi have said, because the low standards that the IBHOF set, then he should be a shoe-in. If a turd like Jose Sulaiman gets in, then so should Panama Lewis and Luis Resto should be in too (maybe a bit far!)
