You guys be quiet, PBF will be wanting Hearns to make a comeback if the moneys right. It would be a good fight for him and preserve his unbeaten status. Is Floyd still a champion of any weight division? Or has he just been anointed permanent p4p status and can ignore contenders? imo that cowardly sucker punch and run display with "Big Show" was a disgrace, act or not. I always imagined a "champion" as having some type of courage and pride

Hearns fought from 147 to Cruiserweight, beating the likes of Virgil Hill at Light Heavyweight, and fighting Hagler at MW and Leonard in a rematch at MW as well.

Try to at least have some semblance of a clue about what you're talking about before talking about it next time.

Hey I love Duran, but lets calm down. I never thought anybody would ever KO Duran, but Hearns KO'ed (former lightweight phenom) Duran at 154. Let's not act like this was a 28 year old Duran at Welterweight or etc. Duran was in his mid-30's (34 or 33 I think, don't feel like looking it up) when he lost too. It is a very good win, but lets not overrate it. That was a fight Hearns should've won.

And there was a fight of higher significance that Floyd wasn't highly favored in as well? Floyd still has not a win to match it.

This was directly after Duran went 15 with Hagler at MW by the way.

None. Hearns beat 3 ATGs (Benitez, Duran, and Leonard), and 2 very good fighters, HOF caliber (Cuevas and Hill).

Mayweathers best wins are DLH, Castillo, Corrales, Hatton and Hernandez. None of those are ATGs, and Corrales probably doesn't belong in the HOF. So he has 4 HOFers 0 ATGs. He still can fight some ATGs, but he will not fight 3 of em.

H2H Hearns would smoke Mayweather. So I don't see the argument.

In that case, I'd have to assume Wilfred Benitez himself was in fact, one of the judges that night. That fight was WIDE for Hearns, even though Benitez did well, there is no way you could give him many of those rounds.

Floyd got a SD over DLH, and arguably lost the first fight with Castillo, so what's your point?

Yeah that was a good showing, but I thought Hagler easily won the fight IMO. To me it was one of the most overrated close decision as I didn't have it that close.

As far for Floyd, he wasn't highly favored against Corrales. That was one of his most dominating performances and as far as the expects, I think Corrales was actually a slight favorite with them.

Anyway, I think the Mayweather and Hearns are very close in regards to their ATG status, but I give the slight advantage to Floyd. Primarily because of his work/skill at 130. The Hatton KO also help push him ahead IMO. Depending on how he finishes his career, I think Floyd can create decent seperation (assuming he beats DLH, Cotto, and whoever).

In your opinion, what does Floyd need to accomplish still to past Hearns?

I don't think he was the favorite against Genaro Hernandez either.

He needs to beat Cotto for sure, then we'll talk.

mayweather was the favorite just before the hernandez fight...you know, the whole thing where money flows for the underdog right before the bout thing.

Hey I don't know how to post youtube videos in the forum yet, so I'll just paste the link.

This is the best Hearns Highlight reel I've seen in a long time. It's kind of long (almost 10 minutes), but it's worth it. Take Hagler's chin, put it on Hearns' body, and you get the greatest fighter of all-time.
