Hagler by at least 10 /5 . Amazing thing is that had it being a 12 rounds ,Duran could have won it. Yep a few rounds were close but I don't think Marvin should have being in any danger of losing his title.
Duran surprised everyone by going the distance against Hagler, but IMO he didn’t look all that good. He was too small to hurt Hagler, so he just tried to survive. Watching parts of the Hearns-Benitez fight, it was interesting that Benítez didn’t land a single shot in the first round. He really had trouble with that long reach of Hearns. At times Hearns backed him up into a corner, and it started to look like target practice for Hearns, much like the Hearns-Duran fight, but somehow Benítez was able to get himself out of trouble and stay in the fight.
I suppose Hagler was thinking too much about what Duran was able to do to Davey Moore, so he may have been more cautious than he needed to be.
Well I think if it was scheduled for 12, Hagler would have stepped up the pace sooner. But yeah, it was insane to have Duran up after 13. If Duran had won one of the last 2 rounds and gotten the decision, it would have been a huge robbery.
While it wasn't as close as some may lead you to believe, I certainly didn't have it a 11-4 type of fight.
