Those guys could compete at CW and they wouldn't even close to being undersized, Benavidez could probably even compete as a smaller HW. There's just too much size difference.
Very good point. At 168 Ryder is right where he should be. I'm always surprised when Benavidez makes 168 for his fights.
Benavidez and Ramirez(before he went up) making 168 and not being near death is "suspicious" to say the least. The division sucks. It's a bunch of over-sized LHW-CW who won't fight each other, and Clenelo who wont fight them, then there's the likes Ryder who are good but simply outsized and outgunned. We're lucky to see 1 truly top level fight there every 2 years or so. and then there's fighters in no-mans land. Shishkin has been struggling to get top level fights for years.
Loses to both but as always gives a good account of himself and probably rocks (not drops) both on a few occasions too. Also think based on Canelo's performance yesterday, Benavidez beats him.
Ryder took a beating in this loss and he's 34 already, I'll wager he's done as any sort of threat at 168. He's standing at the door of gatekeeper.
Ryder is durable as hell but he is also easy to hit and flat footed. He tried timing Canelo but just couldnt. He lose to both these younger faster guys. He makes it t the bell but probably takes a beating like the Canelo fight.
He would give both of them a tough fight but he would not win. Ryiter is a very tough guy and never gives up
