Arguable I grant, but he was probably the most technically brilliant fighter I've ever seen, dominated everyone at his weight and retired undefeated. Unfortunately for him, he was just too small, only in the later stages of his career was he able even to move up a weight and fight comfortably. Marquez is a step below all IMO, his resume does not match his talent.

Likewise, I don't think Lopez's resume matches his talent, whereas Barrera and Morales were able to display their skills against P4P rated opposition.

Makes no sense. Morales holds wins over prime Barrera and and prime Pacquiao. Marquez beat past prime 130lb Barrera, and lost to Pacquiao.

At 135 yes Marquez has done more than both Morales and Barrera. But we're talking about careers, and Barrera has had a great resume at featherweight and below, as does Morales.

    Good point. Summed it up.

Marquez has been more successful at 135lb, but both Morales and Barrera established themselves as great fighters at 122lb and 126lb, even before Marquez got his first win against a great name.

I voted not yet..He does have a good chance though..I mean Morales and Marco are 2 of the best mexican fighters I've ever seen and i'd place both in my top 60 atg..Marquez is a very good fighter and has a chance to pass both up

nothing like pac over barrera, barerra over hamed and morales over pac

nelson over fenech, pbf over corrales or gomez over zarate

...now i ask you what is his defining win?

:goodI agree. As much respect as I have for the pacman, I think JMM beat him twice also. I think JMM is more of a late bloomer and it's a hard choice because no one can discredit the other 2 mexican greats, but aside from jmm's fights with manny his victories over casa and the baby bull diaz were unbelievable. my vote for marquez

:lol:Surpass Sanchez, don't think so. Wilfredo Gomez along with Sugar Ray Leonard were in the top 3 p4p back then and Gomez was what the pacman is today, undefeated mexicutioner, only Sanchez blasted through Gomez while Marquez you could say boxed Manny in 2 very close fights. To be on Sanchez's level JMM would have to ktfo Manny, which is very unlikely, with all due respect to JMM.
