So they think they can make the Derevyanchenko a PPV fight? Oh gawd, that's an excuse for sure. Derevyanchenko has about 7,000 followers on his social media, even Martirosyan is more popular than Derevyanchenko. Stub Hub is the best GGG will get against a no-name opponent like Sregyi, get real dude.
Not a duck. Messed up circumstances, Golovkin is all out of kilter, it is a very tough fight for him it deserves a clear headed training camp and proper promotion, both sides need this. We will have to see what happens once this May mess is out of the way.
Not strictly a fair comparison because up-and-coming fighters tend to study champions, looking at all their strengths and weaknesses. It's natural they should do this, maybe even train accordingly if they are ambitious and hope to meet them in the ring one day. I doubt GGG has given much thought to Derevyanchenko until very recently, so there is a disadvantage in terms of preparation.
Promotion for what? lol Did you just pull that excuse out of your ass or did Loeffler, Abel, or Sanchez use it and now you're repeating it?
Anyone who knows my PoV on GGG, will be lolling at this comment. I certainly am.... LOL. But hey, let's stay tribal, it's way more fun like that....
I sincercely apologise for having an opinion. But thats what i think. Promoted properly and paid properly if you want. I just get the impression Golovkin has haters and they are trying their luck at putting smear on anything they feel is worth an argument no matter how feeble.
All I see are a bunch of excuses why GGG can't fight top fighters including Derevyanchenko. GGG has how many amateur fights, and how many pro fights, been MW champion how long?
preaching to the converted dude.... I was thinking Lennox vs Vitali when I made the point you commented on. I think the same logic applies here, that's all...
Using the excuse that you couldn't fight certain fighters because you had mandatory obligations with b level opponents, and then using the excuse that you can't fight a mandatory because you want more time for promotion while stating that you care about titles and legacy first doesn't bode well with hardcore fans.
Everyone calling GGG out went quiet when they learned HBO only put up a 1m purse for this fight. HBO isn't going to risk losing money by paying the normal price for a GGG fight because of the backlash of Canelo having to pull out. Anyone who thinks BJS, Andrade, Charlo, SD, or whoever else eill jump in the ring with GGG for 200-300k with a short training camp need to take a step back and think for a moment. Derevyanchenko could wait a couple weeks and have the IBF order the mandatory, which has not been done yet, and then fight for a split of a much higher purse. SD doesn't want the May 5th date but he can't say that because idiots like OP would take that to mean he doesn't want the fight at all.
You don't know if they would or wouldn't. That would be a career high for Derevyanchenko, and if he beat GGG it would have been worth the investment. Also GGG didn't have to fight on May 5th, "seems" like he stuck with the date to avoid certain other fighters. He's not fight Canelo, he's not fighting a Mexican, he's not fighting in Vegas, and he's not fighting on PPV. I'm not sure why HBO only offered 1 million but sounds like they are back at protecting him.
