It continues to baffle me that people still take you seriously. I didn't know grown men believed in such simple, dumbed down logic.

I think the last time i did one i had Foster at #5 and Jones at #8. But mentioning Foster was more about Mali's remark that Jones could beat any of the great LHW's. Jones isn't beating Foster.

There are certainly some good fighters on that list for Saad, but I'm not sure that all of them were necessarily better than a lot of the men who Jones fought. I mean were V. Johnson, Lotti Mwale, Richie Kates, Murray Sutherland, and Jerry Martin really better than Griffin, Woods, Gonzalez, Tarver, etc? Perhaps an argument can be made, but really I'm not so sure at first glance. Also, I'm not always a huge fan of the whole " weak era vs strong era " argument. While there are definately some eras that are noticeably more competitive than others, a lot of times it boils down to opinion and specific criteria. Not just, " this guy was better than that guy. "

It would be brilliant fun. But it would be like watching a shark stalk a seal.

I think it could potentially be a good fight though, and while Foster's power could prove to be the death of Jones, I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility of Roy's boxing ability to prevail.

I've been wrong about fights I was certain over recently - I was sure Mijares would beat Darchinyan, and I was sure that Oscar would smash Pac - so I could be wrong.

But it's as firm a pick I have between greats at the weight, given Foster's composit punching/footwork/reach and Jones's percieved vulnerability to power.

What made Barkley a more legit champ than Ruiz when about 6-7 fighters were better than Barkley at 160 and Barkley never beat the 'man' at the weight? Barkley was a paper titlist much like Ruiz, and also much bigger, being my point, both are credible wins for the smaller men

Barkley was a very tough, give and take fighter. Who defeated Tommy Hearns TWICE! Ruiz was a human punching bag, with arms. Duran could possibly have went up to Heavyweight & defeated him!

i'd say all those guys other than sutherland are better than hte jones opponents. Some might argue for Tarver but i'm not a fan of him personally.

Woods and Gonzalez were very marginal talents.Woods wouldn't have got past the British title in the 70s, maybe euro at a stretch.

Barkley had more skills in his tiny pinky than Ruiz had in his whole body.

    I will say this.

Being a top 20 light heavyweight means as much as being a top 5 heavyweight.

The rabbit hole is verry verry deep at lightheavyweight.

If you take into acount every great fighter from 160-175 over the past 120 years then it is the god division.

Duran, the new WBA heavyweight champion of the world.

And relly, I can belive it. There is a reason why lightheavyweight champs or former champs failed to win the heavyweight title in a one title era. Most often than not the best heavyweight had it.

But in this titles era, one can pick and choose.

Trust me, had the alpha boys been here since the days of Sullivan, the likes of Conn, Moore, Loughran, Foster, ete would have held a heavyweight title.

Hypothetically speaking it would be a good fight. But knowing Jones, I wouldn't rule out the possiblity of Roy's finding some way not to fight Foster.
