Wilder also has far more power

AJ needed a Dodgy British stoppage to beat Takam.

Had that been Wilder against Takam then Takam would have been properly knocked out, let’s face it.

The reverse could be said, as i think AJ would have taken Ortiz out of the fight at earlier stage.

As you mention refs, a lot of the refs decisions in the Wilder vs Ortiz fight could be viewed to favour Wilder, eg Wilder pushing Ortiz to canvas and then ref demanding Ortiz gets up with immediacy, i am sure if you have boxed you know that getting pushed to floor in later rounds does have a brief detrimental affect on you, so a few extra seconds needed to get your equilibrium plus the punches after the bell by Wilder etc, all with out 'punishing' Wilder.

Not suggesting the above would have changed result, but same could be said for AJ vs Takam bout being stopped prematurely, same result just may be not a stoppage.

Wilder having more power than AJ, i think Wlad might question that, although i sure as hell would have been happy with Wilder or AJs punch in the arsenal in my day.

I think the Takam fight showed Joshua is not the fighter we thought he was after the Wlad win. May have just been an off night but I was less than impressed with that performance by Joshua

And the Ortiz win showed Wilder can certainly be stunned, but at the same time he can dig deep, survive, and come back to still deliver KO power late.

I see the fight as being close with a slight lean towards AJ

Both fighters are big punCher’s- and both fighters CAN be hurt or knock down ( neither are iron chinned)——- that makes the fight all the more interesting

Both men have a big punch ,Wilder has more one punch power, Joshua fails to knock out with one punch tends to end fights with ref stopping it after flurry’s or finishes them after a number of shots, Joshua is a better boxer than wilder but doesn’t box on inside he boxes from outside, And only moves inside when knows they are hurt and nearly out,Both have beat aging fighters and looked vulnerable which only proves how poor the HW division is I think Joshua does win but it’s nearly a pick em I think Parker provides more problems for AJ, Also 214 pound fighter beats 241 pound fighter shock horror too much placement on weight seen it before and we have seen it again.

Wilder was saved in 7th round...as stated weight made it that more difficult to deal with larger Ortiz. Joshua AGGRESSIVE counter puncher...another ball game all together.

Parker won't win more than 2 rounds if it goes past 7. He's lucky too see 5 rounds here.....I have no doubt AJ completely bull dozes him.

You sit there and take punches not defending yourself the ref should stop the fight and that what happened...

In fairness to AJ he planned to be fighting a different fighter both in name and style. Coming in heavy was for Pulev and his jab jab jab style..

Did he even lose a round against Takam???

I want to see what he look like against Parker before really committing myself on way or the other..

I'm not so sure about that. Takam is better than most of the guys on Wilder's resume and he fought quite a defensive fight. It's hard to knock someone out if they fight to not get knocked out.

I picked Joshua. He's just better imo plus he has a good trainer who will help him prepare a good game plan.

I don’t think weight had anything to do with it just that wilder was out boxed by an ancient high blood pressure more technical fighter who eventually got to him, If Ortiz had been in his prime he probably would have finished him,not down to weight it was skill,we all saw that and I look forward to posting after Parker v Joshua, I think it will be a lot closer than you think unless Joshua can get under 17 stone.
