@MVC! - The resident Wilder fanboy, believes that Joshua v Wilder is a much bigger draw to UK fans because "Wilder has a big US fanbase" and "UK fans hate Fury's guts". Which fight would you rather see? (Obviously Fury is peak, e.g. the same shape as against Wlad).
I have no desire to see Fury fighting for the world title if he's still out of shape and neither should anyone else. Even then, I think Wilder/Joshua would still be the more entertaining fight.
Personally i would rather see Joshua and Wilder but i do think in the UK Joshua vs Fury would be bigger. All the armchair fans either like or dislike Fury and clearly love Joshua, alot of them are only just hearing about this Deontay Wilder fella.
If Fury is in tip top shape, I would prefer Fury because he can beat Joshua! Wilder has no chance to beat Joshua, Joshua will easily knock Wilder out!
vs Wilder. Fury is gone, and if he comes back there's very little chance he will regain the glory of the Wlad fight, which was incredibly dull by the way. Actually one of the worst HW titlefights in history. Fury is a "what if" guy right now. What if the rematch with Wlad have happened? What if that version that beat Wlad would fight someone on world level that wasn't reluctant to let his hands go? What if he fought Joshua, Parker, Wilder... whoever? Joshua vs Wilder is the fight to make now. Although it's very bad to see a safe route run pay off for someone like Wilder, it's where we're at right now. Fury is history, and if he still comes back then Fury is still history.
Wilder isn't even known outside of his own living room, as Hearn proved the other day. AJ v Fury is the biggest fight in boxing, fact.
Thing is Fury won't be marketable for a title shot unless he has 2-3 fights, one of them against a top 10 guy. So that will likely take a 18-24 months to materialize.
Fury is the bigger fight. Wilder wouldn't be ppv right now in the US, neither have a big enough profile is the states.
