Shane was good and fast at 135 I don't see many beating him there unless they are ATGs but I say Chavez wins. Discuss.

    I'd take Chavez.

I think he dissects Shane down the stretch..A combination of his body punching and doggedness would eventually cause Mosley to become timid and defensive minded.

The end result would be very tight though..Can't see more than a couple of points in it..It will take some time for Chavez to stamp his authority and I see Mosley picking up quite a few rounds before he does.

    Great matchup.

Both throw those crisp hard punches. You can just see the force behind them. Id take Chavez on account of his greater experience.

Mosley was a beast there, but he didnt have to worry about killers like Rosario. It would be close, Shane starting fast and JCC winning the second half. Mosley vs Sweet Pea woulda been fun too.

Mosley was a beast at 135, and I think that JCC is highly overrated so i'll take Mosley.

I think most people remember Mosley at his wins at 147, and don't realize how could he was at 135.

Mosley toyed with Chavez in sparring as a kid.... go watch the tapes. And Chavez was not the type to go easy in sparring.

lol somebody told you wrong, and JCC DID go easy with both DLH and Mosely. Shane gave him no problems and no attitude so JCC didn't hurt him. ODLH got a little rowdy when it was his turn and JCC dropped him, just to show him it wasn't his time yet.

Both prime: Mosley has his moments but can't hurt JCC in any way that matters and succumbs in the later rounds. Both Shane and Oscar, as good as they were at LW, were better at WW.

I agree with this. I'd lean towards Chavez on experience in his craft and effectiveness as a pressure-fighter, but I wouldn't be surprised at either outcome at all. Great fight.

Chavez was a better, more well-rounded fighter. Mosley's physical strength, speed, power, and explosiveness keeps it competitive, but during the later portions of the fight, Chavez would be in command.

Chavez got dropped hard by Frankie Randall..... I just dont see him holding up well to Shanes punches in the later rounds at 135. Or Oscars for that matter.

that was some right hand by Randall. imo, Randall was a lot more technically skilled than Mosley. it takes serious balls and technical aptitude to battle with Chavez on the inside. but that Chavez was slightly past prime, though he was still a good fighter. I'd take prime Chavez over Mosley.
