What Taylor did, was that he lasted 12 rounds, Mosley wouldn't last 10

I really need to re-evaluate the career of Julio Cesar Chavez and I don't feel I quite do his achievements justice. That being said I think this fight just about plays into the hands of Julio thanks to his versatility. I made a similar thread about Mosley vs Duran at 135 and I was of the opinion there that Duran wins on the basis of him being a much more rounded fighter.

At 130 and 135 Julio was able to weather fights against some remarkable punchers like Rosario and Ramirez. He did it by having a very solid and subtle defence on the inside. It wasn't all just about bobbing and weaving but depended quite a lot on catching punches to the body and to head with his arms and gloves. Add into that his own precision and power on the inside, his solid footwork that allows him to close the distance, cut of the ring and fight effectively on the inside, then he has an advantage over Shane that decides the fight for me. Shane was a remarkably strong fighter, and I think he will be able to nulify some of Chavez's inside attack by clinching and overpowering the strong Chavez. That being said he will have to take punishment to do so and that is where points are scored, not in clinching and forcing the break.

I've gone over Shane's strength's so many times, and sung his praises so many times that I can't bring myself to do it again. Bogotazo knows how much I appreciate the great man and his earlier days before he fell in love with his physical properties.

Both men are going to have to ship punishment in this fight and its Shane who cracks first. Once Shane cracks any chance he has of falling back on his solid boxing ability is met in the same way that Hector Camacho's performance against Chavez was met, with brilliant ring cutting ability which doesn't exist in the sport today.

Shane pulls through to lose a clear if not close decision.

It's just a shame that so many black dudes think they have to back the black boxer no matter what. Ali is my favorite fighter of all time. JCC or MAB is my second favorite, followed by SRL. I'm white.

Backing fighters strictly by skin color is stupid and constricting, and it leads to you trying to defend stupid **** like Mosley beating Julio Caesar ****ing Chavez.

Chavez by decision in a war, Mosely was too open & too willing to brawl, Chavez was too accurate inside & too good defensively inside & would bust Mosely up in the mid-late rds.
