Because I was talking about the fight where Randall got the knockdown, you idiot. And **** Chavez he ****ing sucked after nearly killing Taylor. Dude was a ****ing diva. He knew he would win fights based on his name. **** that drunk. Your mom swallows.
whitaker weighed 145 to 142 for chavez that's not 147 and if mosley could go toe to toe vs dlh why couldnt he do the same vs chavez.. he was faster stronger and hit hard also.. dont see how chavez could win this one :hat
shane is on of the light weight goats. it would take another lw atg to beat him. chavez was that.but people forget how fast and how hard shane threw his punches. hi was a combo puncher. i personally think it was the roids that killed the shane we all loved. he believed in his power to much and didnt throw the combos we were accustomed to. i guy like oscar kan beat shane boxing because he can keep him at range. a guy like floyd can because he is a defensive wizard and will keep him worried and at home because he dnt want to be hit. a guy like duran kan because he can maul him on the inside and use his defense to take away offense from shane. but chavez, tho great inside with body shots is there to be hit and i think if vernon forest, tho may not hit harder p4p he hits harder kuz he is so much bigger, cant knock him out after hitting with everything but the ring post and couldnt stop him so i dnt see chavez doin it. i kould see a taylor vs. chavez all over again except without the k.o. and shane getting the glory.
you guys are comparing a top 30 atg on almost all p4p lists at his best weight vs a hof and some of you think mosley would win?
DLH was never a good in-fighter. Shane was faster and stronger, yes, but Chavez had the better defense, better accuracy, better timing, better footowork, and was the overall more rounded fighter. It would be close, but Chavez edges it.
Not quite, Chavez was in 2nd gear & young Shane was boxing out of his skin.... Shane started really well, sticking & moving, side to side, landing some & missing some... the longer it went on the more Chavez had timed him & was landing more regularly with the snapping, accurate shots... he was making Shane miss more & more without really exerting himself & making Shane use loads of energy. With that said, Mosely held his own very well.
I think Chavez related threads should be made strictly at the classic forums, since it seems like the vast majority of the general forum dont know much about Chavez.
Mosley has too many tools in the shed and doesn't mind going to war. He was faster than Chavez and just as strong. Plus, Mosley loves to fight guys who come straight forward. This fight is all wrong for Chavez. I'd put hard earned money on Mosley in this one.
Just in case you are not trying to act stupid, here`s a history lesson, Chavez was in his 90th or 91st fight & was clearly past his best when Randall dropped him & Chavez got up right away & was in no trouble, his eyes were clear as a bell. Right up until that point in his career, JCC had shown one of the best chins in the entire history of boxing, so much so that Angelo Dundee said `Chavez is the toughest fighter I have ever seen, bar none.`
lol at that, only thing chavez had over mosley was probably stamina, chin was even defense even also since both fighters were more offensive minded than defensive.. footwork you cant be serious with that one edge mosley speed mosley punching power even I just see mosley being too fast and quick for chavez :hat
Everyone saying Mosley doesn't have a chance is either severely overrating Chavez, or severely underrating Mosley. The same goes for those saying Chavez can't win. For starters; Shane used steroids to bulk up to 154. He never used them as a lightweight. Look at his lanky body and you can see there were no steroids there. Second; Mosley was fast, explosive, had SERIOUS power, and mixed it up well to the body. Any fighter with those tools could give Chavez a tough fight, let alone a fighter of Shane's caliber. Third; Chavez had an ATG chin. I doubt he gets stopped, but that doesn't mean Shane can't keep him more honest than you guys will allow. Lastly; Chavez had excellent in-fighting skills. SSM holds every advantage for the inside, except for technical ability. JCC would more than hold his own at the inside game. I think Mosley would win a close decision. I don't think he was the better fighter, but I think he had the specific tools to beat Julio Cesar Chavez. If it happened and Chavez won, it wouldn't surprise me either. Great fight, should have been a great discussion.
:deal I'd pick JCC by clear decision. He had the defense, pressure, power, iron chin to keep Mosley humble. First half looks like Chavez-Taylor, second half Chavez takes over. Over 135 I'd pick Mosley.
The weight is definitely key. I take Mosley in a close battle at 135, but at 140 or 147 the fight tilts hugely in his favor.
