Will Pavlik unify the 160lb division by the end of 2008. If so or not, why?

Sturm wouldnt have the balls to fight pavlik. Abraham on the otherhand would probably be willing and would make an entertaining fight.

I agree. Of course if Pavlik starts to pick the belts up at the rate Juan Diaz is then he might be able to by the end of 2008.

Not enough time and who knows what the suits will do. Will they allow Pavlik to fight their fighters? Or maybe they see him as an easy mark.

the things are not enough time and also the question of whether the two german based fighters will be willing to travel to usa. i mean, i just cant see their promoters allowing that.

and there should be no way that pavlik has to go to them! :nono

Pavlik is the linear champion. I doubt he'd be too worried about unifying the three titles and paying more fees.

He is a local guy, so we a lot of info on him. He did an hour special on tv last night. No specific direction was mentioned, although some possibilities (Sturm/ Abraham).

Why not. Would you complain if he did. I'd like to see him travel to Germany. It'd give credence to the fact that not all American fighters are scared shitless to leave their own country.

He did say he was interested in unifying, but I'm with you on this. If I was the linear and recognized champ at middleweight, I wouldn't be chasing after any of the alphabet belts. The other belt holders should have to come to him (or actually in a perfect world they should want to come to him) because deep down they should know that their bull**** trinkets are exactly that...Bull****! :good

Both Sturm and Abraham want to fight in America.

They are not as famous as Maske, Schulz or the K's in Germany and I think Pavlik would demand at least 1 million € to fight abroad.
---> too expensive for ARD and ZDF (the channels that broadcast Abraham's and Sturm's fights).

So IF Pavlik-Abraham or Pavlik-Sturm takes place, it will be in the US.

But I highly doubt either fight will come off.

He mentioned possible venues he would like to see his first defense happen at. The Q (Cavs), Browns Stadium, The Shoe (Buckeyes), or YSU stadium. Unfortunately, all but one of these is an outside venue.

how long pavlik can stay at 160 also has bearing on him unifying.
