Peter is suckish and a quitter; but, Chambers showed the "refuse to win" style against Povetkin. Chambers just stopped throwing punches despite every single punch he threw landed fairly cleanly. Chambers' issue and Peter's complete crappiness make this a tough fight to call. How is Chambers' chin? It's possible for Peter to get a KO; but, anyone with a modicum of skill and a decent punch resistance should be able to beat Peter. Fat Eddie Chambers by UD.
I'll go w/ Peter. He is going from over rated to under. The second half of the Povetkin fight has me questioning how Chambers will do against Peter. Chambers went into survival mode in that fight and I think he'll end up doing the same with Sam.
Well, at least he DID survive...granted, that was a weak mental effort from Chambers, but it beats what Peter showed against Vitali.
:nono 2 totally different situations. Peter got the **** beat outta him from the opening bell. Chambers can't do the same kind of damage that VitKlit did. Chambers folded when the going got tough and Peter might have enough left to make him fold again.
Chambers by UD. He has the better boxing ability, considerably better speed, underrated power, and a solid chin. Peter is a strong guy, but his plodding style, lack of activity in the ring, and overrated power will see him come up short. Chambers didn't just stop throwing. People forget that from round one on Povetkin was consistently landing to Eddie's body. By the fourth it started to bring Eddie's guard down, which is when Povetkin landed his biggest shot of the night thus far in that fight, which was a counter right that clearly had an effect. Eddie didn't stop fighting, he got his body beaten up and that caused his activity level to decrease and guard to unravel, thereby letting Povetkin tag him ever more cleanly. Peter isn't as fast as Povetkin, isn't as skilled, isn't as active, and has a lower KO percentage.
You aint' kiddin', it has. Peter's days of being feared are obviously no more. This is a great chance for Chambers, yes. I hope he knuckles down and gets himself in a lean, more marketable condition, as well as being more fit for a long fight...........and puts on his best performance, cause this is a great opportunity for him. One I think he may be able to pull off, even though I expect Peter to TKO him, you never know.
Why would you expect Peter to TKO him? The only quality fighter Peter has stopped is Maskaev, and everyone knows about his chin. Aside from that everyone goes back to the Williams fight, but Jeremy is also known for his terrible chin. Peter has never been close to stopping a quality opponent with a proven chin.
Vitali hits 10 times harder than Povetkin does. There's a difference to being caught by Povetkin and caught at will be Vitali Klitschko.
I am picking Peter. Chambers I don't think hits hard enough to back Peter off. Peter has always done well against smaller heavyweights. Peter tko7 Chambers
No, he hasn't, and I do think his power is not nearlyl what everyone thought it was. But, he is still a pretty powerful puncher, and I think he'll have no respect for Chamber's power, and Peter will go right in at Chambers and start throwing hail mary shots. I am not sure what I think as to the outcome, but I am leaning towards Peter to catch him with enough to get Chambers out of there, but you never know til we see it. Chambers is very fast for a heavyweight, no question, and Peter will certainly be caught with numerous clean shots as he comes at Chambers. But I think Peter's overrated power may still be enough to take Chambers out. Chambers has little power, from what I've seen, and all the point racking won't do much to hurt Peter in his mission to land a big KO shot, which I think he'll eventually do. Should be a good fight, seeing as how these two are so opposite in style and power.
Chambers has a dedecent chin, a good defense, and fast hands. He should outbox Peter easily over 12 rounds.People forget that even though Peter beat Maskaev he looked **** in doing so.Chambers workrate slowed dramatically against Povetkin but i doubt Peter puts him under the same pressure. Chambers UD
Depends on what Peter has left. If the Vitali fight hasn't ruined him than he might just beat Chambers. But I get the feeling Peter won't be the same fighter anymore. I think Chambers wins a comfortable decision, about 8-4. This is a really good fight for ESPN and should put the winner near the top 5 of the division with some big fights ahead.
