To be fair to Ruddock, Tyson was still very much an elite HW back then. One blip aside, there was no indication that he had physically slipped at all prior to his prison sentence.
He wasn't quite the same guy as before, more straightforward in terms of style, but even so he was more than capable.

The Tillman fight was a gimme granted, but he flattened Stewart inside a round, which for me remains one of his most overlooked wins.
He was still very much the danger guy in the division, and at worst was the second best heavyweight in the world when Ruddock fought him twice.

The fact that Ruddock took the fight at all says a lot about him, imo. He didn't need the Tyson fight...all he had to do was bide his time and knock over a few more stiffs until he got a title shot.

The Tyson fight was a huge risk, but he still took it because he geuinely believed he could win, and you can't fault him for that. The guy had guts in spades...

I still stand by my choice in that he wouldn't unify. He was too flawed, too tempremental.
But while he didn't have any signature wins on his record and he lost to two ATG heavies in his prime, he was a very real threat to just about anyone. He was a high-risk guy that nobody wanted to fight.

    yeah i did..so what?
Are you gonna tell me that SMith was something better then that?
How many succesful defences he has on that belt?
Tucker also held a belt in some point in his career, i called him a journeyman also.
I don't see what's your problem with that, other then being a hypocrite since you categorized today's contenders, some of which held or still hold a belt, as bums

  8. That Version of Tyson Ruddock fought would have KO the 2000-2004 version of Wladimir.

So stop acting like Tyson was 'shot' after 2 years from Douglas. Ruddock took Tyson 19 competitive Rounds. There is a big difference between competitive rounds and just rounds.

Tua lasted 12 rounds against Lewis but didn't win 1 second. Ruddock landed some monster shots on a still elite Tyson. Razer had one of the biggest punches in the HW Division. That guy's smash punch would have flattened Wladimir pre Steward. So let's take off some rose tinted glasses ok.

Not saying Ruddock beat either K2 Prime for Prime. But saying **** like 'fast eddie chambers' have a shot against Ruddock is outrageously stupid.
Ruddock will knock Sam Peter out prime for prime as well. Not one of these HW's today got any semblence of heart. Ruddock got loads of it. Even if his talent level is let's say 'equal' to every HW of the KBROs era. He still wins base on heart alone.

His talent is actaully > then every single win on the K2 Resume other then Haye.

David Haye got freakish talent. Fully motivated Haye send Wlad to the grave.

Haye might send VK to the grave sometimes in the next 1-2 years. It will be the greatest pleasure of my boxing fan career when I see a old as fuk ancient slow Vitali beaten into a coma by Slick Dave

who then retire again to avoid Wlad.

Ruddock could possibly grab a few of the major belts, but I don't think he'd be capable of holding onto them in the same way as K2, let alone unifying them all, which is a whole other matter not solely realated to talent. He was a very good fighter, but he often put himself in danger to land his big shots and was especially vulnerable to counters due to the way he hooked. He'd bomb out a lot of K2's past opponents in far more impressive form, but I can see him struggling against a couple as well.

  13. Wait are you a K2 fan or just trolling me?

You think 1991 Mike Tyson vs 2000 Wladimir..

the 1991 Tyson don't KO the fuk out of 2000 Wladimir???

No seriously rofl... Is this a joke. 2000-2004 Wlad was getting knocked out senseless by randoms who drive golf cars during their off time.

    1991 Tyson mercs 2000 Wlad
