Tell that to Rulon Gardner and all the other fighters who got robbed for no reason, or at best the reason of "not being Japanese"
The replay has shown that he was hit with Daley's right knee, the one before the left knee missed. I'm not really even in favor of fining fighters for breaking rules, but that is at least morally defensible. Unless you are just referring to him being a ****, in which case you are entitled to that opinion. I rather like him
What if they made a bonus for fights not requiring a stand-up or separation? If a fight goes without warranting either, both fighters get a bonus in addition to their contacted purse. This gives both fighters an incentive to keep pressing the fight.
but THIS should be considered and implemented if a fighter gives a particularly poor showing or acts like a twat. Kimbo's woman would have been gettin it constantly.
Isn't it a rule in a fight, to fight? The yellow card does enforce a rule. The 1st and most essential rule to actual engage in a fight.
I wouldn't say Koscheck. I am against Yellow Cards but if there is any fighter that makes me rethink that position it is Anderson Silva over anyone else. Koscheck may be boring to you, but the guy really is at least always fighting his opponent. Maybe not in the exciting fashion that people want, but he doesn't hold a candle to Anderson.
he isn't boring o-o I said that because of the eyes pokes :-( Anderson Silva needs to rethink about his last performances because he isn't helping the sport buuut Sonnen is talking bull**** about Big Nog, Lil' Nog and the rest of the team I hope AS doesn't repeat what he did to Maia
Bad fights are going to happen and no rule is going to change that. Its not like there were never bad fights in Pride. Besides I can't think of a single bad fight that actively improved as result of a yellow card being issued. Clearly giving someone like Steve Mazagatti the power to fine fighters would do far more harm than good.
they should take part of the fighter's money when he holds the submission after the ref tries to stop maybe not the first time third time is fine
But they can be actively discouraged ala Starnes and Silva's display IF the yellow card system was in effect. As for Mazagatti he's a pile of shite ref and he's license should be revoked. And for the record how many fights in PRIDE can you name that were even remotely close to Kalib Starnes display? I sure cant think of any.
I still don't see how a card system would have made fights like Silva/Maia or Quarry/Starnes any less awful. What do you think a yellow card would have made Starnes snap out of his back-pedaling trance and go on the offensive? You are aware he was punished correct or is getting bounced out of the UFC not enough for you, you want them to take 10% of his pay too? Fact of the matter is that for one reason or another, trainwreck fights happen every so often, yellow cards or not. So why install a system that could potentially rob fighter's of a percentage of their earnings via controversial calls (see Gardner/Yoshida) if bad fights continue to happen on occasion anyway? You act like the card system is a solution to a problem that can't be solved. Also I'm sorry but the following Pride fights make Quarry/Starnes look like Garcia vs the Korean Zombie. Kimo vs Dan Severn Tadao Yasuda vs Masaaki Satake Sakuraba vs Gilles Arsene Mirko Cro Cop vs Nobuhiko Takada Kiyoshi Tamura vs Aliev Makhmud I mean at least Starnes/Quarry produced this: This content is protected This content is protected
