On January 30, 2010, Shane Mosley, a Golden Boy Promotions investor and known steroid user, will be fighting Andre Berto. Will boxing's new anti-doping savior and Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, push for the same blood testing that he is pushing on Manny Pacquiao?

If it wasn't for all the blind devotion to floyd mayweather, he wouldn't want to rub this **** in so many people's faces.
You idiots earned this **** by riding the floyd band wagon.
    Eat it and shut up.

it's a fair question and deserves a thread. it deals with the advocacy of a better drug testing in boxing and it's time we had a new hero in richard schaefer.

so you think that he will be a good representative for the betterment of boxing? would he be fair? would he subject all fighters that fight under their promotion to a stringent drug test that he feels is lacking now?

Richard schafer and floyd mayweather are the dynamic duo of clean sport advocacy. Both men have gone on record for years explaining their demand for better drug testing.
Floyd and Richard have personally addressed the NSAC multiple times about it's inferior drug policy. They have worked tirelessly for years to make sure that all boxing matches are competed on a level playing field. They also advocate that all boxers MUST make weight during weigh ins, as that is absolutely the professional thing to do.

This is going to start the precedent for better more strict standards of drug testing in boxing.....Other fighters and their promoters are going to remember this, if the fight doesn't happen...

I thought it was PBF that wanted this testing to happen. RS is repeating what PPF is saying. Just like Arum with Pac. They are acting like lawyers more than promoters.

It still is going to set the precedent that in order to keep guys from backing out of fights, blood testing will have to be included....or other fighters will use this as an excuse to back out of fights....it has now created a giant ridiculous loophole...

    They are a laughing stock.

C'mon Jeff. You can't take them seriously. The have a known doper in their stables whose a partner no less. They accept Mosley's money to buy a partnership in the company GBP. Then they refuse blood testing for him against in a previous fight negotiation. Now they are singing the tunes of an anti-doper revolution? C'mon man, be real.

What loophole? If you don't want to fight, you don't. This is a voluntary agreement. The only reason its such a sticking point is because Mayweather has everything, the whole fiber of his existence wrapped up in his undefeated record that he wants to keep an out that won't hurt his ego. Sheesh.

    Easy options:

Will Schaefer ask Mosley and Berto for blood tests?

    Yes or No.
